Feeling sad. It's like they've all died or something.

I know JC is a knob. But a very entertaining knob.

AIBU to raise a glass and weep a little?

chickenfuckingpox Sun 28-Jun-15 20:54:02

my son loves it he is watching it and laughing now he is two so perhaps the right age?

(actually i like it too)

if anyone asks its to help his speech and language he does nothing but chatter about it!

EatDessertFirst Sun 28-Jun-15 21:01:32

I'm watching it too.

<sniffle>

Geepee71 Sun 28-Jun-15 21:03:53

Don't know if it's because I know it's the last one, but finding it very amusing.

TalkinPeace Sun 28-Jun-15 21:05:28

am sniggering at it too

Lolimax Sun 28-Jun-15 21:05:45

DD and DH are sitting here wetting themselves watching it. I can't stand Clarkson but I can't see the new reincarnation being as good.

AdeleDazeem Sun 28-Jun-15 21:10:39

Tis the end of an era alright wine

haveabreakhaveakitkat Sun 28-Jun-15 21:37:11

And on that bombshell sad

exactchange Sun 28-Jun-15 22:02:44

Loved the elephant in the room!grin

TruJay Sun 28-Jun-15 22:11:18

Aw we love it too.
DH did mention today that ITV are hiring the three of them for a new show to be aired Sunday's @ 8! I hope this is true and not a rumour. No one else can do top gear like they did sorry Chris Evans

FarFromAnyRoad Sun 28-Jun-15 22:13:35

I loved it - nearly coughed up a bit of kidney laughing!
Feel a bit sorry for Chris Evans and whoever they put with him - it can never be as good.

I feel sure JC & Co will be bringing something out anyway.

BlueBananas Sun 28-Jun-15 22:13:53

How is it the last one? Thought Chris Evans was doing it now?

satine Sun 28-Jun-15 22:18:40

I loved tonight's show, and like many of the episodes it made me actually cry with laughter. I will miss the programme, and I am sad that it won't be the same with anyone else.
BUT there was no other outcome. No employer can allow an employee to (allegedly) behave abusively to a colleague or subordinate, no matter what personal issues may be going on, and after prior warnings. If the BBC had allowed JC to carry on, they might as well have told him
That next time he was having a really crap day, it would be ok for him to hit someone. Or run them over.
So although we're sad, and I bet May & Hammond are VERY sad, I don't think there was another option.

VivaLeBeaver Sun 28-Jun-15 22:26:41

Well I hear they're going to do a motoring show for itv which will be broadcast at the same time as Chris Evans show.

haveabreakhaveakitkat Sun 28-Jun-15 22:29:01

Bluebananas - It was the last show with JC & Co.

Chris Evans will be ok and I'm sure he'll have some quality co presenters, but it will take some doing to get anything like the camaraderie that Clarkson, May and Hammond built up.

Really pleased that the last show included trashing caravans. Brilliant smile

MrsTerryPratchett Sun 28-Jun-15 22:31:23

This made me laugh

SoleSource Sun 28-Jun-15 22:31:26

Hilarious tonight.

Netflix are close to a deal with the trio.

BlueBananas Sun 28-Jun-15 22:35:46

Ah so it's just the last show with these presenters not the last Top Gear and you're all a little bit dramatic? I see wink

SueGeneris Sun 28-Jun-15 22:36:17

I felt sad too.

I don't watch a lot of TV but it's one show I've seen right from childhood. I remember hearing my dad laughing at TG downstairs. It makes me feel happy.

It's also got my DS massively into cars and he has plans for his own car company along with model names and his own ideas for how you build cars (he's 7).

haveabreakhaveakitkat Sun 28-Jun-15 23:04:15

Ah... just realised about the elephant! Very good.

Fingers crossed for a new show very soon wine

NaughtToThreeSadOnions Mon 29-Jun-15 00:27:29

N*blue bannanas* the title of the thread is JC and co last top gear, as in its their last show, people say it's year 11 last day, the whole school isn't closing just people leaving or is that dramatic too.

But also to many many many people 85% of the top gear audience these presenters as you call them are the show, yes Chris evens is going to present a show called top gear, just as tiff needle and Angela rippion did before clarkson may and Hammond, but it won't be this one. I just a programme with the same name.

The show was more than a car show, in fact it wasn't really a car show. It became about them and their little misadventures.

Yes we all know the bbc had now choice and I think in many ways Jeremy almost wanted it, I know it was editing but how many times was he shown going I'm 54 I'm to old for this I hate working on top gear. Not condoning in anyway what is accused of doing.

haveabreakhaveakitkat Mon 29-Jun-15 09:49:24

MrsTerryPratchett - love it!

haveabreakhaveakitkat Mon 29-Jun-15 09:50:39

I hope the new show is as good. Dh said one of the producers is going with them.

Heels99 Mon 29-Jun-15 09:53:24

Lots of people watch it who have no interest in cars but enjoy watching three blokes who have a strong relationship messing about in an entertaining way. It needn't have been cars it could have been anything they were doing.
So yes, top gear will continue and the car enthusiasts will still watch but the extra viewers who watched it for entertainment probably won't.
It is sad that thy couldn't go out in a high.
I too liked the elephant. It said it all, without saying anything.
