AIBU?

WIBU to keep my son off school for this?

So I had a hairdresser appointment this morning for 9.30. I desperately needed a cut and colour before going on holiday next week.

Unfortunately my dd was sick at 7.30am...although she seemed fine afterwards. This meant I had to keep her off school.
Given that the chances of getting another appointment in time for the hols was zero, was I bu to call in a sicky for my eldest son (14) this morning to watch her while I kept the appointment I had? Fridays are a half day at school anyway here.

My hair is looking great now but I don't know if I did the right thing.
What would you have done?

Yabu obviously. Keeping your teenager off school to babysit because you desperately 'need' a haircut. really?

Yabu and this is bad parenting. I can't believe someone would actually do this.

He has had his exams so not sure what they are doing in school other than being kept there so parents can work or enjoy their leisure, and if you only can enjoy your leisure while he provides childcare, then thats what you do....

I hope for your son's sake you don't get a near fatal broken nail or an emergency attack of split ends when he's doing his GCSE's.

I mean I know it wasn't a dire emergency or anything...but the salon was booked solid otherwise and it's only one morning.
I was hoping for some camaraderie on this one.
