daughter asked if she can have friday coming of work as we arranged a family day out. it was arranged before she got the job.

his reply was.Your on router i cant change it next time give more notice.

daughter thinks that means she can go but should give more notice next time.

i think it means. no you cant go. next time give more notice and you will be able to go...

TurnOverTheTv Sun 21-Jun-15 18:24:39

She can't go.

tubbytimmy Sun 21-Jun-15 18:25:04

I think you are right.

ToadsJustFellFromTheSky Sun 21-Jun-15 18:25:32

The second option.

RunsWithScissors Sun 21-Jun-15 18:25:33

Definitely can't go.

MyPelvicFloorTrainsItself Sun 21-Jun-15 18:25:46

She can't go.

haveabreakhaveakitkat Sun 21-Jun-15 18:26:29

She can't go

DoreenLethal Sun 21-Jun-15 18:26:37

You're on rota. I can't change it. Next time give more notice.

If that's what the response was then no, she can't go.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants Sun 21-Jun-15 18:27:06

Can you not re-arrange the day out, or have you got tickets?

WorraLiberty Sun 21-Jun-15 18:27:28

He clearly said, "I can't change it".

IssyStark Sun 21-Jun-15 18:28:15

She can't go, and if she knew about it when she got the job, why on earth didn't she tell them then?

Pagwatch Sun 21-Jun-15 18:28:19

I read it that she can't go.

manicinsomniac Sun 21-Jun-15 18:28:22

It means no sad

ghostspirit Sun 21-Jun-15 18:29:41

yeah thats what i thought. thats everything pooped has cost me alot of money as well

steff13 Sun 21-Jun-15 18:29:58

I agree with the PP, he was saying she can't go. Can she switch shifts with someone?

FishWithABicycle Sun 21-Jun-15 18:30:20

She's on the rota. If the rota can't be changed then obviously she needs to work the shift she's rota'd for. If she doesn't she'd be sacked.

ghostspirit Sun 21-Jun-15 18:31:52

i asked her that steff its like talking to the cat. i think shes going to speak to him asap see if she can sort something i doubt it though

AuntyMag10 Sun 21-Jun-15 18:31:56

It clearly states it can't be changed. How can your daughter be confused about a simple, clear message?

Eigg Sun 21-Jun-15 18:32:01

From what you've said she doesn't have permission.

Is there any reason she didn't give notice when she accepted the job that she'd need that day off?

EeyoresTail Sun 21-Jun-15 18:33:21

Is it her contacted day to work?
If not then it's up to him to find someone to work it.
She should have said when she started that she had plans then he would have to honour it.

ghostspirit Sun 21-Jun-15 18:33:47

fish i so knew i was spelling rota wrong it just did not look right at all grin

Discopanda Sun 21-Jun-15 18:35:02

Which is why punctuation is important!

BeaufortBelle Sun 21-Jun-15 18:37:15

Of course she can't go. Why didn't she bring it up when she accepted the job? Hard fact of life I think, for both of you.

ghostspirit Sun 21-Jun-15 18:41:18

mag no reason she just was :/

eigg daughter would not have thought about it. but she did try and tell them. manager was not in so she told supervisor. he told her to tell manager. she had no contact detales. manages to get an email address. sends email no reply. the discovers this is not right email. emails him again with the right email. and that was the reply.

eeyores i guess it is ? shes on zero contract hours

PurpleSwift Sun 21-Jun-15 18:42:14

Can she ask at work if anyone wants to swap?
