For a while I've been 'losing' random things, leggings, tops, cardigans, eyeliner etc etc etc.

Thought I was being scatty and disorganised.

Gutted my room this weekend in prep for decorating and still couldn't find lost bits..... Just bumped into my cleaner who was wearing two of the items I've lost (one very distinctive) at first I thought no it can't be but as she scuttled off I thought wtf ? She looked mortified and I was speechless.

She still has a key and is due to come mon or tues. I'm so angry, I don't know why I didn't say something I think it was disbelief at first

Change the locks, call her and tell her you no longer require her services, she will not be surprised.

I'm so so upset, she was always so nice and asked about dcs etc and was so nice when she saw them I'll in front of her. Then the times I'm out she steals from us

Did you employ her through an agency? Make sure they know, if you did. What a cheeky cow!! Are you actually at home when she cleans, though?

Is she an agency cleaner? If so you need to take it up directly with them.

If not, wait for her to turn up for your next clean, confront her and sack her.

Either way, change the locks.

Omfg!! Cheeky cow!! That's stealing, end of! Ask for your items back and tell her in no uncertain terms that you're not employing her anymore! She's broken your trust, and let's face it, you must have trusted her for her to have a spare key to your house (that sounds as though I'm having. Go, I'm not I promise!)

Make absolutely sure the items she's wearing are yours before you do anything. If you are 100% sure and you owe her any money wait til she comes to clean next then confront her and tell her she won't be getting her last wage because you've spent it on changing the locks. Why should you be out of pocket?

Then tell her that if your belongings aren't returned by the end of the afternoon you'll be reporting the crime to the police.
