why do almost 100% threads on AIBU get answered but if post else where about other stuff there are no replys..but yet if i post about not having enough benefits to get my nails done it would go on for ever

CoffeeAndBiscuitsPlease Sat 13-Jun-15 19:39:44

I find that I post things on here and people say"This should be in parenting, this should be in relationships...etc" Truth is, things rarely get answered where they should be. Post them in AIBU and you always get an answer.

And the more dramatic, the more responses smile

usualsuspect333 Sat 13-Jun-15 19:40:36

A lot of posters never leave AIBU.

They never emerge blinking into the light that is the rest of MN.

Quiero Sat 13-Jun-15 19:41:14

I think some people only read AIBU as they are arse holes and just hang around waiting for someone to abuse.

Which leads on to why you'd get loads of responses if you mention benefits because loads of arse holes hang around waiting for someone to abuse. Sadly they see people who are struggling financially as fair game for that sad

WorraLiberty Sat 13-Jun-15 19:42:01

Chat is fairly busy

But HQ could cut out 50% of topics and there would still be far too many imo

ghostspirit Sat 13-Jun-15 19:42:16

AIBU is kind of fun though :P

CoogerAndDark Sat 13-Jun-15 19:44:29

Do you not have enough money to get your nails done?
Would you like me to send you some, or drive round to your house with a selection of OPI and some chocolates?

I will do, as I have more money than sense and a touching naivety about the motivations of people who type stuff on the Internet.

usualsuspect333 Sat 13-Jun-15 19:47:23

I'm a bit skint as it happens, Cooger.

CoogerAndDark Sat 13-Jun-15 19:48:40

Can I get you an online shop at all, usual?

SaucyJack Sat 13-Jun-15 19:49:46

Because people don't want to go on to other topics and write sensible and supportive posts.

Quiero Sat 13-Jun-15 19:50:43

I have some Tesco Cubcard Vouchers. You might be able to double them up and buy vodka with them.

usualsuspect333 Sat 13-Jun-15 19:51:55

Yes please, Coogar. Ocado though, none of that Asda crap.

PrawnJalfrazi Sat 13-Jun-15 19:52:12

I will look at anything and everything... as long as it's under LAST 15 MINUTES! AIBU is at the top though... then I zoom to Chat! I never head for particular topics.

CakeNinja Sat 13-Jun-15 19:53:33

I agree Worra, there are so many topics and a lot of them are incredibly quiet.
I remember when there was a list of shortcuts at the bottom of the page to certain topics, that was great as you could flick between a few in one click. Now to get to anything you have to do a bit more (not hard obviously but a few clicks more) and people, myself included, cba!
I mainly hang around on chat, but when I first joined MN I was on AIBU for ages as I genuinely had no idea there was anything else! I heard about AIBU from that other sparkler place... Decided I would check it out and that was that.

ghostspirit Sat 13-Jun-15 19:55:06

i dont want nails done now...spray tan instead

WorraLiberty Sat 13-Jun-15 19:55:20

Can anyone help my family?

DS (12) has had to leave the park and come home early because I couldn't afford to buy him alcohol.

I feel like such a shit parent. I'd be grateful if I could just give him cheap cider or something but then I couldn't afford my fags.

All the kids are picking on him sad

MistletoeBUTNOwine Sat 13-Jun-15 19:55:22

I'm on the mobile app and go to Active discussions and refresh if there's nothing that interests me

usualsuspect333 Sat 13-Jun-15 19:55:30

I just use Active. I don't hang about in any particular topic.

Quiero Sat 13-Jun-15 19:56:14

I just go down active and click on stuff I think looks interesting. I hide loads of topics so I don't accidentally wade into a BF vs FF debate or some ridiculous discussion about private schools in London.

ghostspirit Sat 13-Jun-15 19:56:40

usual this is my thread why you stealing my vodka envy

WorraLiberty Sat 13-Jun-15 19:57:15

I look at active convos and still manage to end up in AIBU or Chat.

magimedi Sat 13-Jun-15 19:57:30

Worra - tell me where you are ( grin ) & I will rush round with 20 Number 6 for your DS.

Can't bear to see the boy in neeeeeeeeeeeeeed!

CoogerAndDark Sat 13-Jun-15 19:58:00

Do you think your indecision is a contributory factor in your chaotic lifestyle OP?

<head tilt>

WorraLiberty Sat 13-Jun-15 19:59:08

Thanks magimedi, I'm in the pub at a parenting class grin

usualsuspect333 Sat 13-Jun-15 19:59:58

If it all gets too much I go and read the camping topic.

I'll share the vodka ghost. PM me your address. I'll drive across the country to bring you some.
