to be annoyed - dinner related.
(13 Posts)I am cooking a pizza dinner, so several pizzas and garlic bread, nachos, chips and dips sliced on the table and people eat what they want.
Exp has here today, we spend time as a family still sometimes. He had a nap and came down whilst I was getting dinner ready.
I had two pizzas on the table but was clearly still cooking/slicing pizzas. He helped himself to the pizzas that were ready.
I told him he was being rude and he should wait for dinner to be ready and everyone is called to come and eat. Why is he so special that he gets to go ahead of everyone.
He said I was being ridiculous as it was one slice of pizza and there was far more than enough.
So aibu to think he is rude or is he?
He is being rude, but to be fair I wake up STARVING after a nap...
It is a little bit rude but not rude enough to worry about. Doing this for a nibbles dinner is different than doing it for a roast for eg.
Remind him that it was probably such selfish behaviour that got his good self booted out in the first place (she says, assuming a lot).
He was rude. Nothing more needs to be said...
.. except, why was he sleeping in your house? Why does he feel it is OK to nap in your house? Has he actually moved on, as well as out? Or is he hoping to maintain some kind of claim on you?
I too am a bit thrown by him being upstairs sleeping - in your bed? Or a spare room? Sorry, I know you didn't ask for comments on your relationship but surely if he's coming round it's to spend time with the dc, not sleep
I couldn't get worked up about him eating a slice of pizza before it was all deemed officially ready, it sounds like a very informal 'tea' rather than a sit down meal type affair. It's a bit rude to start before everyone is ready, but wouldn't bother bringing it up.
Why is your ex napping in your house?
Yabu it's one slice of pizza, hardly the end of the world.
well as he is your ex, we know why and who cares, he is rude, <shrugs>>
LazyLou you certainly are not far from the truth about his behaviour. He had a headache so asked could he have a lie down. I didn't mind, a headache with three kids about is not fun.
Arethere - he would do it with a roast too. It drives me insane.
Fastday- fair enough, I usually wake up hungry too.
I simply couldn't ignore pizza after a nap
Sorry cross posted with others there.
He was rude imo.
Having said that, unless you've got a massive oven/more than one oven, cooking several pizzas and garlic bread would surely mean they're not very hot by the time they've reached the table?
I can only eat pizza while the cheese is warm enough to still be at the soft, melty stage.
I cooked three first and two second, they take less than ten mins and I did the ones the kids would like first so that by the time the spicy grown up Ines were done the kids ones would be cool enough for them to eat.
