Horrid day at work. Sad. Difficult. Long.

Won't be sleeping any time soon as brain isn't going to switch off.

Box of red wine.

hesterton Wed 10-Jun-15 22:33:07

Do you want to be talked out of it or into it?
Hope you're ok.

HookedOnHooking Wed 10-Jun-15 22:35:14

Not sure. Could go either way.

Soduthen116 Wed 10-Jun-15 22:36:09

Have a glass or two but no more. Embrace the sadness but don't drown in it.

So sorry op. Sounds tough.

hesterton Wed 10-Jun-15 22:36:34

Don't then. You'll just cry and then feel shirt in the morning. Why not cry anyway and feel better in the morning?
What happened?

hesterton Wed 10-Jun-15 22:37:44

I hate my new phone's autocorrect.

TheCatsMother99 Wed 10-Jun-15 22:38:03

Have one or two and stop. You'll regret it in the morning of you have too many.

Spermysextowel Wed 10-Jun-15 22:38:18

Yes, because you still have to deal with tomorrow & it's no easier when you're feeling rough.

frumpet Wed 10-Jun-15 22:39:33

Have two big glasses and find the crappiest telly you can , have a look at Dave , the TV channel , I don't expect you to start trawling the street for random men of that name, especially not after two big glasses , otherwise tomorrow could be a worse day grin

Can you have a good old rant/vent on here ?

ImperialBlether Wed 10-Jun-15 22:40:08

Two nice big glasses, then put it away. You'll be glad in the morning.

LongDistanceLove Wed 10-Jun-15 22:40:35

Yeah but if you get shitfaced now, it'll be worse in the morning especially if you get hangover anxiety.

If you can't sleep for whatever reason, get up and do something, anything, it beats lying in bed thinking and stewing.

frumpet Wed 10-Jun-15 22:42:04

If you have more than suggested you will end up with puffy eyelids and a furry tongue and wine bowel syndrome , never a good way to start a better day .

HookedOnHooking Wed 10-Jun-15 22:43:08

I'm looking for Dave.

'Dave! Where are yoooooou?'

2 glasses then bed. Good idea. Will stop. And cry a bit.

Alcohol doesn't solve problems.

Alcohol won't make you feel better.

Alcohol is a (very) temporary mask.

TrollTheRespawnJeremy Wed 10-Jun-15 22:46:27

Looking for Dave has to be a new MN euphemism wink

HesterShaw Wed 10-Jun-15 22:47:52

What happened OP?

Don't get shitfaced. It's never worth it sad. Are you able to stop after one or two? If not, then don't open the box.

HookedOnHooking Wed 10-Jun-15 22:50:14

Just a shitty day. I win't descend into oblivion. Much as I want to.
Might change name to LookingForDave

LookingForDave Wed 10-Jun-15 22:52:08

Taaaaaah Daaaaaaaaaaah!

frumpet Wed 10-Jun-15 22:52:35

There see , how much better do you feel now you have a mission to find Dave ?

When I said big glasses , I was talking about proper wine glasses not the trifle bowl , so put that back where it belongs ( and wonder why you ever bought the bloody thing ) and stick to the nice wine glass .

Now't wrong with a good cry either , just shows what a lovely person you are smile

LookingForDave Wed 10-Jun-15 22:53:12

Going to try and sleep.

Box of wine mostly full.

frumpet Wed 10-Jun-15 22:56:11

Sleep tight Dave grin

frumpet Wed 10-Jun-15 22:57:17

What the heck does that even mean ?????????

sallysparrow157 Wed 10-Jun-15 22:57:50

I've found that drinking slightly more wine than is advisable but not enough to make me feel absolutely shocking in the morning, having a little cry then putting some bouncy music on and jumping around the kitchen like a prick helps after a horrible day at work - gets your emotions out and leaves you feeling that much as there's a hell of a lot of shit in the world, there is also music and good stuff and it all balances out in the end x

Soduthen116 Wed 10-Jun-15 22:59:12

Well done op.

I like the new mantra of mumsnet to deal with problems.

2 glasses of wine and a Dave!

LookingForDave Wed 10-Jun-15 23:00:24

I'm liking the new mantra.
