AIBU?

To think this is breathtakingly selfish?

Neighbours had a BBQ last night. Shouting and screaming in their garden from 5pm. We went to bed at 10pm, they were being really noisy, had to sleep with our bedroom window shut. This morning at 6.30am they are STILL IN THE GARDEN SHOUTING AND SINGING. When can I tell them to shut up?!

Just wait, they'll crash soon and go to bed. Then you go out in to the garden and make as much noise as possible. Organise a family picnic in the garden and encourage laughing, shrieking and singing from whole family.

Then cut your grass and spend ages with the strimmer to make sure it just perfect Grin

Is it just me or are there ten versions of this thread?

I think it would be a bit late to complain now as you've obviously managed to sleep through till now. However, as PP have said, wait till they drop and then mow the lawn, have a picnic and make as much noise as possible Grin

And, yes, there seem to be several versions of this post...

Yes there are OhEm. But Tech was doing some site maintenance overnight, heaven knows what though Hmm

YANBU, teacher. There's a MNer who used to have neighbours who did this - including cooking their breakfast on the BBQ Shock. She's since moved house!

I didn't add it 10 times on purpose! The app is being really odd, and keeps crashing!

Am now looking at houses on right move.

Get your own back by mowing the lawn then get the strimmer out and do a second time this afternoon and blast some tunes out all day. Everything you do today needs to be done at maximum volume.

One of our bbq's lasted into the early hours once but only because one of our guests wouldn't take the hint and fuck off home. Only when I screamed I'M FUCKING EXHAUSTED I NEED TO GO TO BED NOW did he finally take the hint that the party was over and left.

I said that ^ at the top of my voice too. Most of the district will have heard me Blush

We had neighbours (semi-detached house) for a few years who would get drunk one evening most weekends and they would start singing the same song over and over again and then she would get aggressive and start shouting and there would be more singing and more shouting until the early morning. One Saturday morning they had just stopped with the shouting and presumably gone to sleep when we needed to go out so we moved the speakers facing the wall and put the loudest and scariest music on we could find in our extensive collection of classical music and left. I don't know if they heard it or not but it amused us to think of them trying to get some sleep with Terterian's 5th symphony blaring out from next door.

I'd be waiting till they'd gone to bed/gone quiet then the drill and the chainsaw would be coming out.

You want a bit of Philip Glass music to really freak them out.

Do mow the lawn and take ages on the strimming.

Practice karate kata on the lawn - lots of "hggggn" and "oooaaa" and "oi" noises. That should freak them out.
I speak as someone who used to practice my karate on the lawn. I got a lot of Confused faces.

You must have some pictures you want to hang up today? Preferably on a wall adjacent to their bedroom Smile
