To lie about dcs' ages?

We went to a pool we'd never visited before and it was lovely. However, there was a rule that all dc under 4 must wear swim nappies. Dtds are 3.9 and have been fully potty trained since 2.2. Obviously I know this isn't true for many dc but we don't even own normal nappies so hadn't taken any swim ones. Never occurred to us. Family in front were told about the rule so when the lady told us I said they were 4.

Really I'm curious if anyone else has come across this rule? I've seen signs saying unless dc are fully potty trained please use a swim nappy but dc under 4? I'm not sure how dtds would have taken to me trying to get them into nappies.

I don't put my 3.7 year old in a swim nappy any more.

Did you have an identical thread yesterday?

Yikes ds2 had been having council swimming lessons in public pool since he turned 3 with no nappies in sight. He was fully potty trained just after 2 with no accidents by 2.5 (unlike ds1 &3 but that's a whole other saga)

That's terrible! I can't imagine trying to force a child aged 3-4 into a nappy if they've not worn one for over a year. It should only be for those not completely daytime dry surely?
Just lucky the children didn't pipe up 'no mummy I'm three and a half'!

The thread posted twice the same time - no idea how as I only posted once in my phone and instantly there were two. Not deliberately posting twice. Thanks for comments though. Glad I'm not bu Smile
