To be pissed off with idiots that drop their litter. Well I happened to be using public transport yesterday and some scumbag decided to clear out his bag on the seat next to me. The empty crisps packet, sweetie packets, receipts, old bits of paper.

Another one got on with her disgusting smelly chips and managed to scatter them all over the floor. Did she bother to pick her shyte up? Oh no, we'll just get off next stop so leave it there.

There was a half eaten apple under one seat, I was so sick I thought I was going to spew right there. I'm sorry I just can't understand why people do this to the planet.

I completely agree, it makes me so mad! Near my house there's a train line and the amount of rubbish people throw down there is disgusting :(

YANBU. There's no excuse. If there are no bins around then keep it in your hand or your pocket until you find one.

ItsTricky · 02/06/2015 19:56

YANBU. Was it a train? There are plenty of bins on trains so no excuse, but no excuse anywhere really - if there's no bin, take your shit home.

I saw a cunt driver in a van swerve wierdly as they were driving toward me on the way home. Fucker had swerved to hit a grey squirrel. Poor bloody thing was still alive but on death throes when I drove past. I know it's nothing to do with thread but I hope his balls shrivel up and drop off. Bastard.

I live in a two-university small historic city also popular with stag/hen do nights. Wednesday mornings (after tuesday student night) and Sunday mornings (after stag/hens) are disgusting - puddles of wee in doorways, puke on the pavement, food wrappers and empties strewn about - bleurgghh! love doing the puke/piss slalom on the way to work Sad

so feel your pain YANBU, there are LOADS of bins.

God knows how some people have been dragged up.
I live in a country lane and it had some resurfacing work done recently. Another day a crew came along to put the lines back on the road and they even dumped their aerosol cans in the hegerow. You've reminded me that I'm going to report it back to the Council.

Frequently find fly tipping from people cleaning out their cars and even last week crisp packets screwed up and pushed into a hole at the base of an oak tree.

What the hell do they think's going to happen to their crap? that it'll magically decompose?
Bastards.

I'd bring back the pillory for fly tippers!

Yanbu at all! Sheesh I tidy up after myself in cafes! Its really not hard to put litter in a bin. People like that deserve to have it picked up and shoved through their letterboxes late at night!
Wow, this subject gets me really angry! I'd better go calm down.

BreconBeBuggered · 02/06/2015 20:47

Oh, the fly tippers. Driving out on a Sunday to dump their manky old sofa in a lovely country lane, when they could just as easily dispose of it at the tip a couple of miles away, free of charge. Dirty fucking wankers. If they think their old furniture enhances the landscape, why not keep it on their own doorstep?

In the car park this morning some oik lobbed his mcd's bag and wrappings across the car park. No attempt at being discrete, just proper overarm throw out the window, went everywhere, bastard.

YANBU. The amount of rubbish all over the place is actually sickening.

What do they do differently in mainland Europe, I wonder? There just isn't anything like the same amount of rubbish on the side of the roads in France, say - I just don't understand why the mindset is so different here.

The road at the back of our house was resurfaced, last year.

It's completely dotted with chewing gum, now. Clearly by the same friends of the teenage girl next door who chuck their tab ends in my back yard (which I chuck back, to make a point, despite it being easier to just put the revolting things in the bin)

Oh Mary what a bastard. Yes agree hope they do. How upsetting and how bloody vile. I hate cruelty to animals.

Op completely agree. It's second nature to teach your kids to use litter bins and clear up mess. What have they been taught?

Dirty bastards. Dragged up pigs.

Our council has gone to great lengths to put CCTV in known fly tipping spots and share the footage on social media. And prosecute, of course.

An old postman of ours used to discard the red elastic bands (that hold several letters together) on our driveway. I was so tempted to save them all up and give them back to him in an envelope at Christmas!

my 6 yo DS tells randomers in the street off if he sees them littering. even he is appalled at the behavior of some people.

I'm another that finds litter sickening.
The ones that really drive me mad are the exit slip roads from motorways. I just imagine people clearing their car out and lobbing everything out of the window because they're nearly at home.
Maybe we should start a campaign ?

I'm reading this thread and all I can hear in my head is the "find a bin and put it in" song that was drilled into me at school in the 80's. I will never understand people who drop their shit all over the place

Boils my blood, it really does.
Just 'why'?!?! There are public bins everywhere ffs.
I leapt out of my van last year at traffic lights when the very sophisticated lady in her immaculate car opened her door and dropped out an empty cigarette packet. I just saw red. Banged on the roof of her low car, she shat herself and asked what I thought I was doing. I pointed innocently to my young daughter in the passenger seat in my van and said that 'my daughter was concerned that you'd dropped something by accident from your car so I just had to make sure you had it back' adding in a slightly quieter 'dirty cow!' so that DD wouldn't hear me.

I've NEVER done that before but it angered me so much! Lady in the car roared off glaring and perhaps lobbed the rubbish afterwards, but I made my point.

Yes it is unpleasant but so to is throwing the word bastards about over litter. Bit ott
. I honestly thought when I opened up this thread it was going to be about someone drowning a cute kitten or something.

People around here like to empty their car ashtrays out onto the pavement rather than take the further 20 steps to a bin and back to the car! Bloody lazy! Confused

I saw two guys wipe side windows of cars and drop the hankies on pavement near my house. I walked over picked up the hankies and pushed them through the small crack of open window shouting 'you dropped something pal'. Made me feel better.

And what's with the bags of dog poo dangled from trees? Someone has started doing this on our quiet country lane - what do they think happens to it, the dogshit fairy takes it away?

Oh well. I'm from Estonia and took part in the first ever Let's do it! campaign. It seems that here are plenty of people who would like to take part in one. I think it will be again in the autumn, so start preparing. Wink
When we were doing it, we got high-vis vests, gloves and loads of black rubbish bags. We left collected rubbish by the road and truck was following us and picking up bags. Our group of about 30 people filled up 3 trucks within 8 hours, so good result.
