The game where you have a price of paper and two pens. Teenage Internet fad but it moves to yes. Shock

Don't worry too much it was a marketing campaign for The Gallows Grin

Anyway, what kind of self respecting demon would call themselves Charlie?

It was a marketing campaign Shock. That's a great marketing campaign. But how do they get the pencil to move I suppose gravity.

Ah well lady deadpool according to The Independent it wasn't - this was just what Wikipedia unfoundedly said and then everyone started quoting it.

As for the OP....teenage fad or not, I don't think doing the equivalent of a oiuga board is a good idea. I did a similar thing at school with a yes/no game and some friends and it turned proper freaky.

My grandson spoke to me about this . Fortunately he wasn't intending doing it because we've spoken about this before and about negative energies attaching themselves to your aura.

There are a lot of lost souls out there and not all of them are nice!

What a load of utter bollocks.

Fed up of this silly fad in school this week. It has caused much disruption, upset and pages being surrepticiously ripped out of exercise books.

I would have LOVED this when I was a kid. I remember the Bloody Mary mirror-mirror thing creeping me out.

I think YABU for presumably scaring your teens though! I would have researched it beforehand so I could give them the scientific explanation.

I remember doing Oiuga boards at school, it really did move and I still to this day can only hope it was someone else surreptitiously pushing it around.

Of course it was, what other sensible explanation is there? Smile

I find Ouija boards an absolute conundrum. I don't believe in that crap, yet I am genuinely creeped out by them and would never touch one because of so many people talking about bad experiences.

Don't draw anything or say anything...just put two pencils across each other, and after a couple of seconds, the top one swings.. Why? Who knows?? Creepy? Er, no...

Last night DS (13) was most insistant that he wanted to sleep in my bed as DH is working away. I thought it a bit strange as he's not asked in ages and I'd thought those days were over.
Then he pipes up with 'Muuuum, do you know when you were young, did you ever do a ouija board or anything like it!'
He was bricking himself Grin. They'd done the Charlie Charlie thing at school and it had worked. Bless. Been there done that kinda thing.

tedandlola No more like the other way round. They told me about it and did it in front of me.

I don't beleive in all that demon energy and aura stuff but still a bit freaked.

If he's a Mexican demon, why isn't this thing in Spanish? Or is he a multilingual, privately-educated demon?

I also have it on good authority from DH that they do not try to summon any British demons in Mexico :)

yabu, you should be discouraging them - two reasons, one is we never know for certain what we're messing with, second is that it's a load of bollocks.

Whichever - or both - you believe then you shouldn't be joining in.

I put two pencils on top of each other to demonstrate why it happens, without the paper or scary bollocks. It was that or some nice but stupid kid from our street freaking them out about it.
