Show faces potential Ofcom probe after viewers complain that winner Matisse was replaced with a stunt double during ITV show’s finale

Britain’s Got Talent producers have apologised for not making it clearer that the winning act – a dog called Matisse – was substituted for a lookalike in the high-wire stunt that helped the animal and its owner win the talent competition

Are people being unreasonable to complain that she/they unfairly won the competition?

Ofcom won't investigate them. Calling OFCOM is basically the standard nutter default these days.

I don't think it's in the spirit of the show and they've probably ruined any future career, but it's nothing illegal and BGT would have known and cleared it.

I need to get out more, but I'm outraged! Hated the bloody dig act anyway, especially when they brought out the 3 legged dog to get awwwww votes

Apparently Amanda and Alesha were also complained about for their cleavage.

It does seem like people call OFCOM for anything these days.

I just spent 30 minutes reading people's comments and I don't even really like BGT.

The dog was hers
She trained it
Matisse can do the tricks just he gets scared of heights

People like to complain about everything these days.

I had seen the semi-final so I knew that there was a look-alike called Chase. I watched on catch-up last night (before today's furore) and kept playing back to try to work out if it was Matisse or Chase doing the high-wire trick.

i didn't feel cheated at all - great training on Jules' part with multiple dogs. But then I didn't pay to vote during the final. I do think that it was the tight-rope walk that clinched the 1st place though. Jules had said that there would be 2 or 3 dogs in the final act. I believe it was the BGT producers who recommended she didn't bring Chase on for the 'end of act bow and feedback.

But silly people were sold a story about the woman and her best friend Matisse who was always there for her and they read each other's mind yada yada. Actually it was just a group of poor dogs who would do anything for a biscuit. Cruel. Especially trying to get them to walk on wire when they hate it Angry

Just fucking bizarre. One day the nation will look back and think 'what the fuck were we doing with our spare time watching this bollocks'.

I felt sorry for the extremely talented magician, who found himself congratulating a bloody dog when he came second Grin

Haven't we just had a clever dog act win BGT? Pudsey or something? Is everything really so witless and unimaginative that a cute dog with (insert your own description here) owner every year?
I don't even know why I'm typing this out - I don't watch BGT.
I'm off to have a word with myself.

I don't see the issue, she trained all the dogs. She's clearly a gifted dog trainer. People complain about anything nowadays.

There was some idiocy in the papers about people moaning because a close up on the magician showed how he did the lemon trick. The poor saps seem to feel cheated because he didn't actually magic the note into the lemon.

I don't watch it but are dancers, gymnasts or magicians allowed to bring on extra members to perform the really hard show stopping bits?

If not then she shouldn't have been allowed if so then no probs fair doos

Noooo it doesn't matter, all the dogs were amazing, it was only one bit done by a stunt double.

And by the way this was way better than Pudsey, really clever dogs and talented trainer.

I am not being unreasonable Grin

It doesn't bother me either. I was just wondering what other people thought.

I did want the magician to win.. although I am shocked that he didn't actually magic the note into the lemon, who would have thunk it? ;)

I was more offended about the cleavage eveynigt it was like boob wars next year they wil just come out with nipple tassles Grin. If that woman had broughther other red dog out at the end nobody would have bothered she was sneaky butshe didnt have him hidden in her pocket bgt would have known she had stunt dogwith her.

That magician was very clever - I felt a bit sad for him that he didn't win.

However, I assumed on the night that it was a different dog doing the tightrope walking - we knew that Matisse had a double from the semi-final, and it looked obvious to me at the time that he went in through the door and a different dog came out. I don't think it matters - surely the woman won because of her skill as a dog trainer. Confused The fact that she managed to train multiple dogs so well is just further evidence of that skill.

I think the bit that slightly irritates me in her act was called Jule's Dwyer and Matisse when really it should have been called Jule's Dwyer, Matisse, Chase and Skippy. That part makes me feel slightly misled for example In don't think it would have been allowed for a dance group to bring on an extra one legged dancer in the final who hadn't been in the group in the other rounds.

The magician was out of this world and should have won.
