I.e. house always tidy, children always do what I say/never have tantrums/I never lose my shit with them? I can also do arts and crafts and make cakes and have perfect make up while I'm doing it?

I want to be a Ladybird mum in the 60's which I suspect is what Topsy & Tim's mum is like.

Wear dresses all the time, bake with the daughter whilst an impossibly groomed husband with sensible hair mends the fence or mows the grass in trousers & full on formal shirt & tie. Son helps the father which saves me from the constant moaning. No more shouting out of the window like a fishwife to put that stick down, you'll have someone's eye out like I did earlier! Grin

YANBU. I wish there was a T&T after hours show, that shows the mum sobbing into a bottle of gin in the airing cupboard.

I want my life to be like Flop's from Bing. I even covet his kitchen. Flop never cries when he spills the coffee. He just gets more coffee, like some kind of reasonable grown up or something. Sad

But you would have to be married to topsy and Tim's dad... Smile

Personally I think flop is on some sort of community service and if he loses it at Bing he'll be sent back inside.

Sadly my house is a bit more like Justin's... With less singing and no robot tidying up.
I hate that show.

Bliss.

Sod Peter & Jane & the floppy dog :) Lovely green lawns with a spotless fence :)

This is me, I would wear a hat every time I went outside if I had to. Tell me I can dress DS2 in a blazer as well :D

However I would draw the line at the brown suit that looks like the Brownie uniform circa 1985.

And my first book would be Mother Discovers Marmalade Vodka :)

But I would mix it by a spindly legged sideboard whilst wearing a skirt....

T&T life? everyone speaking in their theatre school happy voice? No not for me but I like the house and the interior design.

mmmmmm its the 1970's Peter and Jane life for me. Going to the farm a lot, and visiting the local parade of shops where there's a greengrocer, sweet shop and toy shop. I am dressed in a skirt and jumper my hair looking good, sort of late 60's style. My kids in flares and t shirts with one stripe decorating the front. So cool.

I've only just today realised that Topsy and Tim's Dad isn't Bob from Emmerdale.

He looks like Bob, and Bob does have a history of secret families, lots of wives, lots more children, and even a set of twins in the family.

I had a proper look at him today though, while he was gamely eating cake made of shaving foam and plastic animals, served up on a plate that had glued on pom poms, and realised he's not Bob after all.

She's on some serious happy pills and that's why she's so fucking chirpy all the time. Either that or she's mainlining vodka in the bathroom all day. That's what I choose to believe anyway, makes me feel better about my seriously under par in comparison parenting skills.

I always thought Aunty Mabel led a charmed life. Nice little bungalow in the middle of nowhere. Own plane. No work. Can just go and do what the fuck she likes.

I like the house on T&T; it is not too perfect if you see what I mean, very realistic. It does have bits of clutter too which I like! Mine does have much more clutter, but makes me feel a bit better about the tidiness of my own abode!

I am just waiting for her to plant the pampas grass in the front garden of that new house of theirs.

ladyflower23 I hate to break it to you but there is one Topsy and Tim book where one of the twins (can't remember which!) refused point blank to eat their "tasty breakfast" which Mummy had prepared, leading to much recrimination. Turned out that said twin was sickening for appendicitis (or possibly tonsillitis? Straining my memory here!) so there was an excuse but just shows that even in T and T land, a little rain must fall! Me, I want to live in Happyland with the ever-smiling, yellow and rotund Mr Happy.

The house is always a bit of a tip with washing drying etc. Realistic. But not something I aspire to?

In a similar vein, I'd like to be Sophie's mum from The Tiger who Came to Tea. Just pootling around at home in case a tiger drops in, doesn't go berserk when he eats everything and then goes out to a cafe for tea in her matching coat and hat.
