Just booking our honeymoon. On the day of flying I'll be Mrs so I put that down as my title and he said I should put miss because I am

Koalafications Tue 26-May-15 14:13:59

It really doesn't matter.

WorraLiberty Tue 26-May-15 14:15:15

Who said?

Just put what you want. I can't see how it matters?

everygalaxy Tue 26-May-15 14:15:32

Be careful with visas/border crossings/ flights - I had to go on honeymoon as Miss because we didn't have to change passports & tickets.

AnyFucker Tue 26-May-15 14:15:53

Who is "he" ? And why does it really matter ?

Pippa12 Tue 26-May-15 14:16:32

It depends on what your doing with your passport if going abroad. I still travel in my maiden name as my passport doesn't expire till 2017 and I married 5 years ago. It doesn't matter tho really.

MaxPepsi Tue 26-May-15 14:16:48

If your passport is in your maiden name/previously married name then you would be Mrs Blue, not Mrs Married Name.

WayneRooneysHair Tue 26-May-15 14:17:08

Does it matter? Will your passport be updated?

madasaboxafrogs Tue 26-May-15 14:17:38

so long as you have changed your passport to match this then I don't think yabu. We got lots of upgrades when folk realised we were on our honeymoon.

DrinkFeckArseGirls Tue 26-May-15 14:17:58

Why don't younuse Ms, hen you don't have to change anything.

TrueFact Tue 26-May-15 14:18:15

I would think it would make sense to book under the name on your passport.

YesThisIsMe Tue 26-May-15 14:18:20

I can see why you might like the novelty of your new name on your honeymoon. But if that's not what your passport says then it's honestly not worth the risk of trouble.

Nolim Tue 26-May-15 14:18:24

Be consistent with your passport or travelling doccument to be on the safe side. But seriously nobody cares.

WalterMittyish Tue 26-May-15 14:18:37

You're still going on honeymoon, even after the housework comments and the dinosaur wedding pics, eh? wink

ConceptionZilla Tue 26-May-15 14:18:40

Doesn't matter for the hotel but your name on flight bookings / international travel has to be exactly as it is in your passport. Titles are less important than most other details.

5YearsTime Tue 26-May-15 14:19:12

You need to fly in whatever your passport says.

You can can sort your passport before you get married if you want but it would probably be less hassle just to wait!

MadamG Tue 26-May-15 14:20:41

Anyone ekse still really wanting to see the dinosaur pics?

DrinkFeckArseGirls Tue 26-May-15 14:21:22

Ah, ok. I have a foreign passport, there's no title there!

TheRealMaryMillington Tue 26-May-15 14:22:22

Yep, YABU and a bit silly

Who is "he?"

Topseyt Tue 26-May-15 14:23:37

If it is the day after your wedding then don't you need to be careful that the name on your passport and the one on your tickets match?

I don't think you can amend your passport to married name before you have your marriage certificate, so that may be what was meant. I am sure immigration and customs are a lot hotter on that sort of discrepancy than they were years ago.

I could be wrong, of course.

bridgetsmummy Tue 26-May-15 14:26:35

The title doesn't matter but the name on your ticket MUST match the name on your passport

Whiteshirt Tue 26-May-15 14:30:46

I don't have a title on my passport. Are there on British passports?

drbonnieblossman Tue 26-May-15 14:30:48

When I got married we booked in my married name. I took my marriage certificate with my (maiden name) passport and it wasn't a problem.

ludovica Tue 26-May-15 14:31:10

I thought titles on passports went when the old blue passports went.

TravellingToad Tue 26-May-15 14:31:52

Your title doesn't magically change when you get married. If you want to alter your passport etc to a different surname you'll need to provide a marriage cert but surely you won't have had time to do that before the honeymoon?
