Mums of two - do you regret your decision to stick at two?

Wondering about this.

I'm especially interested in mums who have passed the baby stage and have got their 'life' back as such!

I've a ds and a dd, youngest is 6 months, I can see pros and cons for sticking at two and having another!

A big part of me wonders if I just want the baby stage again!

Are you happy with 2?

I am happy with 2 but always wanted more, our problem was that we were forever procrastinating and have left it too late to have anymore. The cost was also a huge factor too.

I am because I was fortunate enough to be able to have kids but if life had panned out differently I would've liked four children and I do secretly hanker after the two we didn't have.

I have two...Both are school age now. I am happy to have two...I love not having a buggy now and having two walking children when we go out somewhere who sit on normal chairs in restaurants and don't wear nappies...much easier! I love going to the park and sitting on a bench with a coffee and book while they play.
I do however have no gps or any help and I sometimes think if I had more family help then I may have wanted another child. The thing is I know if I had another child then I would get zero time to myself until they basically started school!
I do love babies though and sometimes feel broody but it's just biology I reckon. We are programmed by nature to get broody!

My 2 are really challenging. Two is plenty for me; though I think that if my relationship had been stronger (we've split up now), and I had more help it might have been different. If you have a really rock solid relationship I would say go for it!

I'm happy with 2 - I didn't want to space having babies over 8-10 years so if I'd wanted 3 I'd have had to squeeze another in between the two I've got and while sometimes I wonder if I should have (rose tinted!) when I have my practical head on I know having three in 5 years wouldve been too difficult financially as well as time/resource juggling wise if that makes sense?

My two are adults now and I don't regret not having a third at all.

Before we got married we agreed to have three children, but once we had two I never felt broody again and my husband was more than happy to stop there. As far as we were concerned our family was complete and it still feels right.

very very happy. Two sons now teenagers, single mum. Getting my life back now. I had a really broody stage a couple of years ago, but it passed and i'm glad, it was just the biological clock.

Very happy with 2. They are 4 and 5 years now. It's great as now fairly independent, and close in age so permenant playmates. I only have 2 hands so would find any more a challenge! With 2 one of us don't feel overwhelmed alone with them, but can also split into one each if we need to go Different places

Very very happy with two, having a third never crossed my mind I have to say. There no way I could go back to the baby years either, my youngest starts school in September and its such a lovely time.

Im happy with two. Dd2 is almost 1 and as much as I want time to slow down so I can enjoy my children's childhoods, I really look forward to the days that I can just go out for a meal out with dh, go to bed without being woken up by screaming baby/preschooler, have a tidy house without giant plastic toys/seats/activity stations that flash and play creepy music at the most inconvenient times (ie when I've finally gotten dd2 to sleep Angry )

So yes, I'm happy at two and have zero regrets! Grin

I honestly do love being a mum

Forgot to mention, if my dc ever have a friend round or we offer to take one of their friends out for the day, I get a glimpse of what life with 3 kids would be like! It makes me feel very relieved I just have two!

Mine are now 17 & 19 and DH and I can go away, I have my life and career back (and even managed to take some time off to do a degree) and whilst I'd like to have had one with DH (he's not DDs bio-father) so he could experience the childhood times and not just the teenage years, I'm glad we didn't ever do it. I had mine young (1st at 18, 2nd at 21) so I have lots of friends who are in the middle of the toddler/childhood stage) and whilst their smalls are lovely, I'm utterly worn out by them!

Not at all - but then I only ever wanted two and grew up in a family of four so have what feels "normal" to me. Most of my friends with two have definitely thought about a third though but with a 5 and 2 year old and an end to nappies and buggies in sight, a return to sleep was nights is not for us!

I keep considering number three, but an acquaintance accidentally got pregnant with DC3 who turned out to be DT1 and DT2! Four kids under the age of five...

I am delighted with two. I always thought I wanted three but dd was a very poorly neonate and I was very unwell in pregnancy with them both and I genuinely can't face the idea ever again.

I don't even get broody, the idea of having a newborn again fills me with horror! They are 5 and nearly 9 now and I've home back to uni and am looking forward to concentrating on my career when I graduate (I had them youngish so still only early 30s now). My life is moving on, I sm enjoying the hell out of my kids and I adore them but I do not want any more!!

I'm happy with two, I regretted it, we have 2 ds and dh would have liked a third but he wasn't the one looking after them. There was 2 years between I just stayed about sane When they were both at home.

My friend had three before I had a second, and she said the logistics change so much, holidays the car to fit car seats in,
finding activities for all three etc.
But I think once you have three it's then easier to go on to have more, from what I hear.

Also we would have had a bedroom issue, we had tried them sharing a bedroom, but it was a nightmare. So didn't want to have to make them share a room again.

Very happy with two. More than that and holidays just become so much more expensive as you need an extra room. You can hold hands with each of them crossing the road etc. harder to fit 3 car seats in a car.

Mine are 3 and 5.

Not a single regret, and I'm seriously considering taking permanent measures to ensure I keep it at just 2 DC.

It was never the right time to have a third. And I was always very sick when pg.
