I do quite a lot of exercise,
If I know I have class or gym I always shave my legs / underarms in the morning !
AIBU to be pissed by the time I get to class or gym in the evening I have a shadow/ beginnings of stubble.
Feel like a hairy beast !

Laser hair removal is the way to go.

I have the same thing - five o'clock shadow on my legs. DD calls it "Mummy's Daddy beard legs" Blush

Yes I agree - could never understand these articles which reckon shaving lasts for 2-3 days.

I've just shaved my legs in the bath which I added some coconut oil to. My legs feel so smooth! Try it.

You need a Philips lumea. Life changing in the hairiness department.

Or waxing.

MissWimpy please spill re Lumea? I've just bought the Compact and done two treatments on lower legs. Have been an epilator up to now so think this will affect the process, but am only shaving in between now.

Please reassure me that I've bought a product that does what it promises?!??

Does the Lumea really work?

I got the SalonSilk Gold IPL recently - I've not finished the initial course (you use it weekly for 12 weeks to start with) but after 4 weeks there's a very noticeable difference. I went bare legged to work yesterday having not shaved/zapped since Sunday and my legs were fine. Underarms and bikini area are significantly thinner than they used to be with distinct bald patches starting to appear. Quite impressed so far

I've had the Lumea for a year. I had to use it 4 times before I saw results but my legs and bikini line are now completely smooth and I shave once every 4 weeks (and that's just to remove a couple of hairs here and there). My underarms still have some hair, it hasn't worked as well on them, but still a lot less than before. So....it really works but you have to follow the instructions carefully - only shave and use it every 2 weeks in the beginning.

Laser. Laser. Laser.

You will be so, so glad you did it.

It does take some time, but the sooner you start, the sooner it's completed. Even the first session made a noticeable difference with me.

I got mine lasered. Best horribly huge amount of money I ever spent.

Haven't shaved or anything for 5 years.

I have a lot of success with an epilator, cheap, not permanent but lasts a couple of weeks, it was painful at first but the hairs that grow back have become thinner and more feeble over the years.

Another vote for laser.

I'm the complete opposite here. I haven't shaved my legs in at least 5 years. Only have the tiniest of hairs on my legs. I'm amazed people can shave and then some hrs later see a growth shadow Shock utterly fascinating! Perhaps it's more to do with ethnicity. I do wish my own hair grew so quickly.

i have a remington IPL and it really works once you persevere and do it
i bought mine mainly for underarms and bikini line but use on my legs, underarm hair seems a lot more resilient and i still need to do it more often - can be a bit of a faff having to shave then use it, i do it about twice a week (when i can be arsed) but there is less hair there

I hate it too OP, my legs and bikini sprout a shadow after a couple of hours! Would love a good way of doing it. My friend said about nono but the reviews for it are shocking!

I have the Luke's precision plus as I wanted to use it on my chin too.

It takes a while to see real results, specially on the tougher areas but it bloody works.

You still shave before you use it too so it's not like waxing or epilating where you have to grow the hair and be hairy inbetween.

If you are white skinned and have darkish hair it's brilliant.

Bloody hell though. Shocked at the price. £350 for some little machine.
Think sugaring and epilating will be the norm for me for some time yet.

Shave, exfoliate then go over with the razor again. Trust me I do this every time I shave and they stay smooth for days

Epilators are from about £25 pounds, mine will remove really short hairs just keep going until there are no more traces of hair on the device

Any recommendations for epilators? I have an old Panasonic thing but its on its last legs so need a new one.

Report
thenightsky · 23/05/2015 20:46

Epilator.

After 2 years I have only patchy thin underarm hair that I whizz over once a week in summer.
