Hi all I'm a mum of 3 small kids and I occasionally panic if they as small kids sometimes do swallow or inhale a substance which is not normally for that purpose. I have come across this poster on the nhs site which gives a list of a lot of low toxicity substances commonly found around the home and which if swallowed or inhaled are generally harmless and dont need any further treatment so may avoid panic or unecessary a&e visits. Below is a link to the poster, hope it helps someone!

Found you in unanswered OP
and agree this will be useful for lots of people.
I used to panic like mad. Grin

It happens more than it should with toddlers and just thought it would be a bad valuable resource to stop panicking and unnecessary trips to a&e!

Given that this post was unanswered for a day or two (I only looked because I'm waiting for a computer to do something and bored), could I suggest it would be more useful to put it somewhere like Children's health and with a clear title? Hardly anyone is going to read this thread, most people will probably guess its either electioneering or trying to flog something and not click.

And how about making a proper link like this too? Smile

Good points, can't for the life of me get the link to work- what am I doing wrong! Will move it to child health and put a clearer title on it x

Links are easy. You just enclose the URL between double square brackets url but with no spaces, or if you want to show something other than the actual url eg 'this' like I did, it's url this - again without any spaces next to the brackets.

I put it in aibu due to the amount of people who will see it as it has more traffic, it's also in health now.

Yes, but aibu threads only get traffic if the title looks interesting!

AIBU is full of begging and proselytising threads: "AIBU to tell you all about ...", "... to ask you to read this before you vote", "... to ask you to vote for my son's school project", "to tell you I've lost 4 stone", "... to ask you all to check yourselves for breast cancer." No matter how worthy the message (e.g. the breast cancer one!), it's all getting too much, especially with all the electioneering, as Errol points out!

I must admit I only clicked on this thread to make exactly that point! Grin
