at 6.30 -8 every night!! yes i know im being a lazy arse but im having a moment of self pity. Its like i do nothing the rest of the time. i assist my dp during the day in quite a physical job. Run the fucking pta. Do school run. dd's homework with her (she is dyslexic and needs alot of help). cook dinner which often i have to bolt down before work or like tonight have reheated when i get home. TRY and keep on top of the house work.

i know its just called being a grown up but im fucking knackered and want my bed

stamps feet petulantly

Yanbu, you seem to have a very full day, and to start again at 6:30!

Give up PTA.

No, Yanbu. I probably come across as a lazy arse because I haven't worked for a decade but I have a disabled child to look after. My husband would gladly swap places with me as he hates his job but I like being a SAHM and I'm much better at cooking (he can't even boil an egg without messing it up) so we are not swapping.

Thanks - my days are manic, yet i often feel like i don't do very much!

I need a full-time job so that i can have a rest!

Tbh even when ive sat on my arse all day (which never actually happens, who has time to do that?) but dragging my arse out to do cleaning at 6.30 is bloody hard because my body thinks its time to slow down - the bastard

mrsdavidbowie - i say that every day!!! I consider myself to be a SAHM and i can't get my head around how WOHM's houses don't fall down around their ears.

Just to clarify: as well as looking after a disabled child I have to do a daily 20 mile school run twice a day (so 40 miles in total and it takes 3 hours out of my day due to horrendous traffic). I have to take my child to at least one medical appointment each week which can take half a day and I have to cook everything from scratch due to child's numerous allergies.

Yanbu - hope you are feeling ok. Are you happy at your job? Sometimes that could make all the difference. Could you do one set night a week of homework, and maybe even prepare dinners on a free day and freeze them? I know it's easier said than done though Thanks

I work in the evenings too and often after a busy day at home I'm tired and not in the mood. Sometimes I leave early or come home a bit late just to have some time alone. I'll just sit in the car and read a book or listen to the radio or mess about on my phone. If I have the money I'll buy a treat for myself.
So my advice is go to work and come back after the kids are in bed so that you miss that job .

It is a horrible feeling. I worked every night for years, after looking after children all day.
A very tiny nap about 2pm, even if 10 minutes, helped me a lot. That, and a massive coffee instead of dinner. Eating will make you tired - eat when you get in.
Sod the housework.
