I think the standard advice is to wait until the last book has been written before picking characters to name your kid after.

(Although Cersei was grim right from the beginning tbf)

It is a pretty name tho. Plenty of "normal" names originated from books.

It really helps not to burden your child with a name that nobody will ever be able to spell, let alone pronounce. Especially if it comes from Game of Thrones!

The thing is I'm not really naming after the character as such, I can take or leave her, I just like the name like you might hear a name in the playground and like it... I just happened to hear it on the programme.

Put yourself in her shoes as a teenager. Having been saddled with a fuddy duddy name (no, I won't reveal it) I elected to use my 2nd name as I got sick of being asked a)how to spell it, b) where does it come from/are you named after so and so? c) what were your mum & dad thinking of.

If you're so taken with it perhaps give her something less exotic as a first name and that as a second....

Peter Pan is over 100 years old, the name now exists outside of the book. Game of Thrones is less than 20.

Plus Wendy was a positive character. Cersei really isn't.

Calling your child after a baddie who was created less than 20 years ago and who has only become a household name in the last 4 years is naff.

Are you pregnant OP? The hormones can do this. My shortlist for DS2 was Tywin, Tyrion and Theon at one point. Fortunately, when he was actually handed to me and he became an actual person I gave him a non GoT name.
