Well obviously in retrospect he should but I'm guessing the mother was too shocked to immediately explain what had happened and he probably hadn't seen the footage at that point. I'm sure that he didn't just think "that woman's a danger to children" and let her go.

He should have, he should have, he should have have have.

But didn't - I think it may come back to haunt him.

Yes now she nowhere to be found.

The fact is he should of stopped her from leaving until he know exactly what happened and then rang the police whilst making keeping her in the store. Not ask her to leave and show her the way out whilst people now have to and get her from a description and not to grate CCTV

He should have escorted her to the office and called the police.
I guess he just wanted to get her out as quick as possible seeing as he'd been following her around the store anyway which means he was already suspicious of her.

Would he have the authority to detain someone against their will when he didn't even actually see them do anything? I suspect not tbh.

Report
NerrSnerr · 17/02/2015 22:32

He might not have known exactly what happened, he might have thought she was just hassling the other lady and got the full story afterwards.

Report
mindthegap79 · 17/02/2015 22:32

Is a security guard actually allowed to detain someone? What a scary thing to happen.

I don't believe a security guard has the authority to obtain unless a theft has taken place.

I do believe the women is unstable and needs finding asap.

Of course they are mind, what do you think they do with shoplifters until the police arrive?

And no, not bored at all thanks Norma.
