A woman in boots leans into pram and tries to strangle the baby

Wth is this world coming too, he just let her stroll out the shop!

FarFromAnyRoad Tue 17-Feb-15 22:17:23

He definitely should have have have have have ffs have called the police.

Discopanda Tue 17-Feb-15 22:17:36

Oh my God, what is wrong with people?!

BarbarianMum Tue 17-Feb-15 22:19:21

Well obviously in retrospect he should but I'm guessing the mother was too shocked to immediately explain what had happened and he probably hadn't seen the footage at that point. I'm sure that he didn't just think "that woman's a danger to children" and let her go.

kinkyfuckery Tue 17-Feb-15 22:19:24

I'm guessing the police were called?!

firefly78 Tue 17-Feb-15 22:19:24

Should have should have should have!!!!

Behooven Tue 17-Feb-15 22:20:39

Isn't it the police that have appealed for information and released the CCTV film?

RJnomore Tue 17-Feb-15 22:20:46

Far and firefly got there before me.

HAVE

just for emphasis op.

TheFecklessFairy Tue 17-Feb-15 22:22:21

He should have, he should have, he should have have have.

But didn't - I think it may come back to haunt him.

WrappedInABlankie Tue 17-Feb-15 22:22:49

Yes now she nowhere to be found.

The fact is he should of stopped her from leaving until he know exactly what happened and then rang the police whilst making keeping her in the store. Not ask her to leave and show her the way out whilst people now have to and get her from a description and not to grate CCTV

FarFromAnyRoad Tue 17-Feb-15 22:22:52

Praise be I'm not alone! I was waiting for the 'grammar nazi' inevitable kicking!
<<< firefly & RJ >>> grin

FarFromAnyRoad Tue 17-Feb-15 22:23:41

And my 'inevitable' is in completely the wrong place there so I'm offering my backside up for a good justified kicking!

MojaveWanderer123 Tue 17-Feb-15 22:28:32

He should have escorted her to the office and called the police.
I guess he just wanted to get her out as quick as possible seeing as he'd been following her around the store anyway which means he was already suspicious of her.

SaucyJack Tue 17-Feb-15 22:30:56

Would he have the authority to detain someone against their will when he didn't even actually see them do anything? I suspect not tbh.

NerrSnerr Tue 17-Feb-15 22:32:29

He might not have known exactly what happened, he might have thought she was just hassling the other lady and got the full story afterwards.

mindthegap79 Tue 17-Feb-15 22:32:48

Is a security guard actually allowed to detain someone? What a scary thing to happen.

I don't believe a security guard has the authority to obtain unless a theft has taken place.

I do believe the women is unstable and needs finding asap.

RJnomore Tue 17-Feb-15 22:38:14

Of course they are mind, what do you think they do with shoplifters until the police arrive?

And no, not bored at all thanks Norma.

HAVE.

WorraLiberty Tue 17-Feb-15 22:38:47

I wish the grammar police would fuck off too

Jesus, go and have sex or something...or maybe a glass of wine but ffs lighten up.

YANBU OP. This has just come on the news and I can't believe he let her go.
