AIBU?

Security lights

My Mum has a neighbour who has installed a security light outside their house. It is a row of terraces and every time anyone walks on the pavement past the house in the evening, they get a bright light shining on them.

AIBU to find this quite rude? People are allowed to walk on the pavement.

harmless, and possibly quite helpful.

Your Mum could ask them if they wouldn't mind just pointing it away a little, or they are going to have to invest in some black out linings for their curtains.

She is a few doors away so it doesn't annoy her when she's in her house, more when she's walking past.

I have this every morning. I walk my dog at around 6am and a few doors down have a light like you would have on a prison and it bloody gets me every morning (yes I should learn to walk in the road but at 6am my brain is still asleep).

It really pees me off as they don't own the pavement and I can walk there if I want. Now if they had a light that came on when you went a mm onto their drive then fine.

It's one of those little things that I should chill out about but really winds me up.

So no YANBU.

My parents live on a small development of houses. One of their neighbours has installed some device that buzzes at low frequency but only youngsters can hear it or something like that. My DSs were quite alarmed when taking the dog out.
Very anti social.

She should ask them to adjust it.

One of my neighbours has a light that seems to come on every time the wind blows. It has a blue bulb in it so every time I walk through my hallway at night, I think there is an emergency service vehicle in the street. Bloody annoying and totally unecessary as they have a street light right outside their house.

It wouldn't bother me if it shone on me outside, only if it could be seen in my house. They're just adding an extra bit of security to where they live.
