We don't know what you're talking about though. You give no details.

so what are you going to do about it?

Report

Im not horrified but i wouldn't do it

Report
WorraLiberty · 13/02/2015 21:12

Is there any reason why you're having these thoughts?

Report
girlgamergoesbad · 13/02/2015 21:13

Wouldn't do it myself but I'm sure that must have been pretty normal in the "olden" days, I get the impression the kids always looked after each other from stories my mum and nan have told me over the years!

RandomMess · 13/02/2015 21:14

No way would I do that and I consider myself quite "lax" with my dc being left alone, keeping an eye on younger ones etc.!!!!

Is this something that is happening in RL?

Report
Amethystus · 13/02/2015 21:17

I was thinking that, is this like in the past when you were the 12year old? I certainly did it with my 10 and 4yr old younger siblings at that age. Wouldnt dream of it with my own kids now. Context needed.

Jessicahyde85 · 13/02/2015 21:17

I know a mother that has done this in RL I am appalled.

So? What do you want? People to comment on a situation they know nothing of?

Report
MrsCakesPrecognition · 13/02/2015 21:20

Do the authorities know? Are the children safe now?

Of course it is appalling, did you really think anyone was going to say it is OK?

Jessicahyde85 · 13/02/2015 21:20

What more do you need to know, the mother went out overnight to get her leg over and left this situation behind her!!!!

Er maybe the maturity of said 12 year olds might be helpful.Mine were ver mature at that age and more than capable even though I didn't I knew in an emergency all would have been fine.

Jessicahyde85 · 13/02/2015 21:29

And how can I give a real estimate of a child's maturity, plus even a grown person can panic in an emergency so.....

I was a babysitter at 13 and was paid by non family. So these ones are maybe 6 months off that so yes must be a 999 call!

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 13/02/2015 21:38

And what was their father doing?

Report
Only1scoop · 13/02/2015 21:39

If you genuinely felt that this was wrong why don't you report it.

The father moved out before Christmas.

Were you babysitting for a whole night? Did I say I was calling 999 or was that others on here?!!?

I wouldn't do that (and I am pretty laissez-faire, generally), but cannot find myself getting too terribly het up about it without context.

If you know this happened and so deeply disturbed by it, then report.
