DS is in year 10. Today I got a call from his Head of Year to tell me he had been beaten up by another pupil.
It was all caught on CCTV and after viewing that and making further investigations the school have said ds was in no way responsible. The other child's parents have been informed and he is being included in school. Ds was tackled to the ground then punched several times. HoY said it was a very nasty attack. Most of the blows landed to the side of his head so no obvious marks and ds seems ok.

That's all great. I am happy with how it's being dealt with.

BUT....... I want to track down the brat, rip his arms out and beat him with the bloody stumps blush I really do. My stomach is churning. Somebody dared to hurt my precious child for no reason.

Obviously I wont do anything but I am really shocked at the strengh of my feelings. Ive never been in this situation, is it normal to feel like this, or am I a very U crazy loon mother?

I would speak to the school...........then tell them you are going to speak to the Police. Perhaps a severe warning from a copper might (I say might!) just persuade the little sod to keep his hands to himself?

YANBU I've wanted to do the same for less (think nasty tween girls ignoring and excluding my sensitive DD cause she didn't fit their golden swishy hair stereotypes)

I hope your DS feels better soon and his attacker gets properly punished for it by schools and his parents flowers

What was the child's punishment?

MrsGeorgeMichael Mon 09-Feb-15 17:16:22

life ffs

Singleandproud Mon 09-Feb-15 17:16:48

YANBU also keep an eye on him it can take over a week for concussion to appear if he was punched in the head.

TheFecklessFairy Mon 09-Feb-15 17:17:04

And even more shock

MrsGeorgeMichael Mon 09-Feb-15 17:17:34

in my opinion kids who do that have shit homes and don't know any better fairy

Seriouslyffs Mon 09-Feb-15 17:18:25

It's scary isn't it, how violently we can hate those who've hurt our beloved.

whatsthatcomingoverthehill Mon 09-Feb-15 17:18:53

Sometimes people are just shits, kids or not, and the default assumption shouldn't be that there is some background that made them like that.

Sianilaa Mon 09-Feb-15 17:18:58

With CCTV footage of someone assaulting my son, I'd be calling the police personally. School won't like it but if it was a stranger on the street who'd beat him up, the police would be involved.

QueenInTheNorth Mon 09-Feb-15 17:19:03

I would be reporting it to the police. No reasons for physical violence ever!

MrsGeorgeMichael Mon 09-Feb-15 17:19:28

what are you shocked by fairy?

agree with police comment btw

TheFecklessFairy Mon 09-Feb-15 17:20:11

So I am supposed to feel sorry for them, am I MrsGeorge. Like fuck - I actually protect my own. When I've done that I might just, just, let my heard bleed a couple of drops for the other little fecker!!!

Come back when YOUR child is lying on the settee with a black eye, swollen lip and bleeding from a head wound. I bet you don't think the same them!

You need to call the police
Your poor son, and poor you

LovelyBranches Mon 09-Feb-15 17:22:01

YANBU, I have a 3 month old and feel protective feelings I didn't know existed before. What you must feel when someone has actively hurt your ds must be unbelievable.

Hope he's ok

How old is year 10?

Absolutely awful and you can feel as angry as you want.
