Booing God Save Our Gracious Queen

I've sung Gwlad, Gwlad, etc in Welsh, (easier to sing yn Gymreig than write, [is that mutation correct?]), but was disgusted to hear the boos for God Save the Queen.
I love Wales & feel really proud to have my Mynediad Welsh certificate, but this hatred of the British national anthem. Really? Is it necessary?

Its all pantomime isn't it. Found all the theatrics more irritating - thought that footballers were the drama queens. Part of the appeal of rugby is the no nonsense, get on with it, off to the pub afterwards to have a pint together approach.

OP, sorry if I should already know the answer to the following question, but at what event did that happen?

It is poor to boo the other nation's anthem at a sporting event. Not very sportsmanlike.

Oh rugby. OK. Apologies for ignorance.

I agree, not on. You can disagree without being rude. If it was reversed there would be an uproar.

I was too busy being distracted/thrilled by the hot young lads in their tight t-shirts. I do love a rugby man's thighs.

FYI, my ES sang both anthems. We're not Welsh, he just likes to learn them in advance so he can surprise folk with his oddness. Firmly believe that those national anthems are residing in the part of his brain where his table manners/civility ought to be.

I expect the Welsh anthem was booed as well but you couldn't hear it as they were singing so loud Gin

Come on Wales!

Hideous to boo anyone else's national anthem, what does it teach the children there of sportsmanship?

Disgusting behaviour

It's perfectly ok to boo (hating/disliking) anything British or traditionally British (English) isn't it! Booing anything else however is not allowed & will be frowned upon especially silly here in MN.

The Welsh anthem was sung in lusty harmonies Blush
C'mon England!

Pisses me off no end that there's no English anthem.

The other Home Nations shouldn't boo what is their national anthem too.

OTOH, I did like seeing the news report on the events marking accession day.
