AIBU?

...to think that at 8 months pregnant, DP shouldn't be making me stay up late on a Saturday night to clean grout off a cold, hard kitchen floor?

As the title says, really: 8 months pregnant, DP grouting the floor that has been 'in progress' since Christmas (I haven't had a kitchen since then) - after he insisted on doing the job himself (at weekends). I'm needed to wipe grout off the tiles as he goes. It's now nearly 10pm, we're halfway through and I want to go to bed. AIBU?

Just tell him how you feel

Why do you need to wipe the grout? Surely he can do it as he goes along.

FGS tell him to sort it out himself, YABU and a martyr.
He can wipe as he goes, you tell him so and go to bed.

He can wipe it himself. Go to bed.

I have tiled. Always alone. Once while heavily pregnant. He'll manage.

How is he making you do this ?

I've tiled and wiped as I go along. Tell him to woman up and get yourself off to bed.

Sorry, but what do you mean 'making' you? What would happen if you walked away saying I'm off to bed?

Get him to do it himself, that's ridiculous. And it would be ridiculous for a man to 'make' his wife do anything like that, pregnant or not.

Leave him to it. You shouldn't have to tell him why.

Because he is an abusive and vile man who wants his woman on her knees being useful?
Or because he's a thoughtless arse caught up in the moment, finally focused on the task and hasn't thought it through?
Which is why using your words and saying 'I'm going to bed' rather than wishing you could go to bed is a better solution. Unless he's chained you to the sink, in which case get off MN and onto the police.

YANBU - tell him to stick the grouting up his arse.

Go to bed & rest.

Yanbu but I have heard that being on all fours is a great way to get baby into a good position for birth. Maybe he's just helping Grin
