It is one of the biggest ball aches ever, but I am going out tonight. Had the dye for about a week, but I just can't be arsed doing the actual deed. I need a kick up the arse.

YANBU. Before xmas I had the dye out for three weeks, moaning about my gray hair daily, before finally getting around to dying it an hour before we had to leave for the airport...

It needs doing again now... maybe in Feb I'll get around to it...

I've even bought one of them leave on for 10 minute jobs, but it still isn't making the thought of actually doing it, any easier Grin

I feel like that about washing and drying my hair

I do it ever other day and I its such a pita I am often tempted to have it cut short

It is a total pain in the arse. It's like swimming - fine once you're actually doing it, but feels like a giant faff to plan and get going.

I've been putting mine off for weeks and look like a witch

I HATE it I really do - I do it every 4 weeks - on a sunday after running - it seems to take up my whole morning - but I am not ready to go grey yet

Haha, yes. I've had bleach on the bathroom windowsill for about a month, waiting for the right time. Hair has to be dirty but with nothing on it and that alone is a pita! Grin

Its so messy and annoying to do.Not to mention to potential for an allergic reaction thrown into the mix.

I buy dyes in plenty of time to redo the roots before they show too much and then keep them until Im almost shamed into doing it.

I wish there was a better way to achieve the same results .

I've got two boxes of Electric Blue XXl sat next to me right now and I can't be arsed to go and start the dyeing process. Such a load of mess and faff < pah >

Don't bother with the ten minute dyes. I thought this was the way forward, but oh no, it didn't colour my greys and I had to re-do it. So double the time and faffing and double the cost.

I don't think having it cut short - mine is - makes any difference. You still have to do it and wait whilst the dye takes.

I used to go to a hair salon but hated it. The cost was 40 and sometimes the hair didn't take and I would have to go back for another two hour stint with a load of hairstylists who believed they were rock stars.

I am just a miserable old goat and leave it until my hair is white, yellow with brown ends. Yuck. The change is then a shock to my family and I resemble a Las Vegas Elvis Presley.

Im getting mine done Monday, but someone is coming. Mine fades far too quickly too, but it is red so that does.

Agree it is a faff. Worse bit is the shower and getting it all off. Takes forever.

I've given up on home dyes really hate the faff. Mind you I also hate the salon but at least someone else has to mix and apply and wash it off! I was actually really happy to be called up this morning because my stylist is sick so I've been cancelled........ Even though I look like a witch.

I read that as 'drying' and came on to say yes, not unreasonable, hate it. Hate it every day.

As for dying, I go to the hairdressers and hate that too. Hate it so much that I have to wait until someone points out my roots before I drag myself there.

I dyed my hair this morning and while doing it I thought I'm going to post about what a pain it is! Dye everywhere. Why oh why haven't they invented a dye that only develops on your hair not on skin, towels, shower curtains and floor!

Don't think that short hair is any less work. I usually wash mine every day because I wake up with it squished to my head and it's easier to wash it in the shower than try and get it back into shape and it dries in about five mins with the hairdryer.

I dye mine too as I have loads of grey - if you really can't be bothered there is a spray root cover you can buy in Boots. It's not cheap but sprayed on a parting it can tide you over until you have the time and inclination to properly dye your hair.

I bought my hair dye months ago. I always put things off anyway, but since I realised that, no matter how many times you've used the same dye, you're still supposed to do the patch test and wait 24 hours (or is it 48? Must check) I just can't be bothered. I need my hair cut first really. I go to my hairdresser's home for that, but hate ringing up for an appointment. No idea why.
