AIBU?

WIBU to introduce a dream feed at 11months?

DD2 is still not a great sleeper. She wakes at 4.30am most days (5.30 is a lie in Grin) and wakes a couple of times after bedtime at 6.45pm, but settles quite easily with a pat/song.

She cluster feeds between 5.30pm and 6.30pm (BF) and doesn't need a feed at 4.30am when she wakes in the morning (but will take it if it is offered) so I don't think she is waking because she is hungry.

Even though I don't think she needs It, WIBU to introduce a dream feed at 10am (it would be formula for consistency as I occasionally like a three glass of wine)? Or at this age would it be introducing a bad habit?

If you want to stop the 4.30 waking go into her room and disrupt her body clock. I would wake her at 3.50 for a dream feed I bet you get a lie in!?!

Its worth a go, I would personally and then aim to break the 4am habit. With my dd at 4am I would offer water and maybe change her nappy if it was very wet then encourage her to resettle.

Thanks for your replies, what I would worry about with introducing a 3.30am feed would be that it backfires and she ends up waking at 3am for the day Hmm but I'll give it a go.

Her nappy isn't terribly full in the morning, and we do try and settle her when she wakes but she is wide awake and screams blue murder so in the end we relent and take her downstairs.

if she is not hungry i wouldn't necessarily feed her. I think the wake to sleep method might work for you. Certainly worth a try.

Wake her up around 11pm, change her nappy and then put her back to sleep and see how you go. She doesn't even have to be fully awake, just enough to pull her out of a deep sleep cycle.
