To go to the cinema on my own?

To go to the cinema on my own? Nothing else on that I want to see, woman in black 2 is on at 10.20... Had a really crap couple of days, including a break up, and want to get out of the house. All my friends are busy, as this is last minute.com

A) will it scare the shit out of me?
B) will I be judged by other cinema goers??

Why not, if it was me, I wouldn't want being single stop me doing what I wanted to do. I'm not very brave though, so can't comment on your choice of film. I'd probably be watching Paddington. Smile

How will other cinema goers judge you in the dark? One of the best places to go on your own imo. I only judge people who: eat smelly, noisy food or talk or use their sodding phones in the cinema Grin.

I haven't seen the film so have no idea how scary it is.

a. dunno sorry although read it is not as scary as the first
b. no - I often go alone and love it - people don't know why you are alone - you could have been invited to tons of parties and just want some time alone to relax - go and enjoy! It's not as though you can talk to your companion once film starts anyhow. I went to theatre by myself Thursday and plan going to cinema Tuesday alone - I have a bf and just like doing my own thing sometimes

I was gunning for paddington, but no late showings, for obvious reasons! So shall I bite the bullet and go?? I think you can now purchase le vino at the local cinema these days... But am just worried that I might scare the crap out of myself... Just really fancy a scary film Confused

Just go for it. If you try it and don't like it, as least you've done it. If you don't go and have a boring night at home, you'll regret not having gone.

Yes, do it. As Brunette says, even if you're with someone, you cant talk.

I go to loads of things on my own. I saw Into the Woods on my own last Saturday. I'm going to a concert in Glasgow on my own next week and the Royal Ballet and a concert on my own in London at the end of the month.

I really don't see the point of missing out just because no one else wants to see it or dragging someone else along.

In fact for many concerts I prefer it. Means I can concentrate on the music.

I have not been to the cinema on my own for years, but I used to love it, felt very indulgent doing something just for yourself.

My Dh loves the cinema and goes at least once a week, mostly on his own as I am not bothered and at home with the kids.

True say. Just worried that my choice of film is bad! But on the plus side, no-one to share my popcorn!!

I found it quite scary, and scarier than the first. But then I'm a wuss!
Had to come downstairs in the middle of the night for medicine for dc and crapped myself.
I'm sure you'll be fine though!

I did this just days after a break up too OP and ended up going for coffee with a gorgeously handsome man who did the same, he had just had a break up too!

Go!

I loved Into the Woods although it didn't get good reviews.

I've never seen it on stage other than a television showing of the Broadway production with Bernadette Peters and Mandy Patinkin. Along with Cabaret and A Chorus Line it's the only musical I like.

I went to the Cinema with others and we saw different films. It was the only time and I would go alone to the cinema in future.

well, having been utterly petrified by the first Woman in Black, I wouldn't.

I do go to the cinema alone, did so last Sunday, but in the afternoon and to a non-scary film! Would never judge anyone for doing so.

Goofy your post has got me worried- do people think it's odd if you're on your own? I've honestly never thought about it.

Ok, first time line cinema goer... Here goes... I am totally freaked out by the film already, but don't fancy anything else. I shall purchase popcorn and vino, and have a good old time, all on my own! I am feeling brave
