Not sure how to clean the sofa to be honest if the boyfriend emptied his whole bladder on your sofa then it will have soaked down into the base of sofa. Is he still in your home ? Can you speak to him on his own about?

Find out who slept on the sofa last night, then tell them they need to clean it up. You don't even need to mention piss, they'll know.

But a quick 'did your boyfriend sleep on the sofa last night?' should do.

I'd be raging. Who does that and doesn't clean it up!?

My exh friend pissed on our sofa after a night out drinking, it was a fabric sofa and he ruined it. It stunk but we couldn't afford to replace it so had to clean it as best as we could but it smelt for months and the stain never went completely . I was guttedHmm

How horrible.

Ask your daughter if he stayed the night. Tell him to clear it up. Tell him he's not welcome if he does that again.

Thing is most 18 year olds won't have a clue how to clean a leather sofa properly and the op will still be left with a sofa that stinks and the urine will damage the leather eventually

thats what i thought if he had weed i would have thought it would be all over the floor. the duvet is only slightly damp. i dont know if he weed and then wiped it up. but not actually clean it... and would it have also gone through to the floor. it was defo done of the kids they all slept in their beds plus still have the same pjs they had on.... maybe im wrong :/

i read white vingar might help get rid of the smell.

Try sprinkling bicarb. I know white vinegar is very very good at getting rid of smells too but I'd do an inconspicuous test first see how your leather holds up to it. Yes it will smell like a chippy until it dries but the smell will go.
If you find out the culprit don't you be embarrassed about speaking about it. A friend of my DT sprinkled on my loo seat once ( yes I know not in the same league) and never left it like that again after I bellowed about it. Hope this helps.

It will never stop smelling. Does your home insurance cover accidental damage? Get rid of the sofa that smells of wee, if you can't afford a new replacement you can pick up decent second hand sofas through a huge variety of sources for a hundred quid.

susie yes it seems its been wiped over in some way probably with the duvet..

seems odd that we all went to bed. hes turned up at silly o clock. not sure what time i know a pizza was delivered around 1.30am his shoes coat and pizza box was in my living room with the stinky duvet on the sofa and one seat on the sofa smells of wee.

Cram a towel down into the innards of the sofa if you can. Maybe it leaked into the inside rather than dripped onto the floor?

Tell the boyfriend he's a dirty bastard, he needs to sober up right now and clean it properly.

When it dries out get some 'pop socks' fill with coffee granules and leave in some of the creases to help remove the smell.

If it's ruined and it's down to him he should replace it.
Does he often just turn up in the early hours of the morning?

diddl · 14/01/2015 09:53

"he does not have that sort of money."

Well then it's a shame for him that he has potentially ruined an expensive sofa, but not your problem.

Professional clean?

How come he was on the sofa anyway?

ilovesooty · 14/01/2015 09:53

Well he can start turning over to you the money he does have then.

He sounds a treat!

I'd be getting angrier than you seem to be.

What a shame though :(

there is an amazing product which gets pet urine smells out of carpets and furniture. It isn't cheap, but it does work if nothing else will.
It is called simple solution stain remover

if it is just one cushion smelling can you contact the shop or manufacturer and you might just be able to replace the one cushion?

I would be tempted to contact his parents to be honest and ask they to pay for a professional clean.i bet his mother would be mortified to hear what he has done. Obviously that might cause a bit of hassle with your daughter but you've got to do something
