do you think people with dirty cars have dirty homes?
(151 Posts)car that are really flithy
Yes. Well we do. Admittedly the car is a great deal dirtier than the home but I suspect both are a corollary of having a large dog and taking him for muddy walks.
I have a friend who has a filthy car and a filthy house. Do you mean the inside of the car or the outside?
Or they could live down a muddy lane in the country? Despite a weekly wash it looks filthy after 2 days?
Oh bloody hell I hope people don't. For the record, whilst my home may not be immaculate (and is certainly not tidy) it is a lot cleaner than my car.
My husband's car is filthy on the outside, from country roads. Inside, crumbs, napkins and the odd polo packet, from laziness! And cheerios down the child seat!
Our home, I keep reasonably clean and tidy!
Guilty of both, inside and out. Do I think the same of others? Not really.
My house is spotless, my car is disgusting !!
I love cleaning but hate doing the car for some reason ..
One brother has both house and car immaculate, the other both house and car revolting
No, my house is very clean but I can never be bothered to wash my car until the back window gets dirty (I live in the country)
My car is filthy. We do live behind a farm and the road is a muddy, one track road. House is tidy and clean though.
My car is minging, the house is alright. Tidy but not spotless. Working FT with DS whilst pregnant means my car is the last job on my ever growing list. I will do it... Eventually.
Clean house, clean inside of car, dirty outside of car
I've never seen the point of cleaning the outside of a car, that's what rain is for. The inside isn't spotless, but there's no rubbish strewn around in it. As for my home, I suppose it's about the same.
My house is very clean and tidy (I'm really fussy and have a dust allergy) but my cars are filthy on the outside because we live in the countryside, ride horses and have two dogs and it's winter. They do get washed but are muddy again within a couple of days hours. Roll on Summertime!
House is tidy, OH's car very tidy and clean. Mine is a compost heap, its used to cart garden stuff around on a regular basis, I clean it at the end of the season.
My car is a disgrace, I hate cleaning it, my husband is embarrassed by it. My house on the other hand is clean and tidy.
It's -20C outside. You expect me to go out and vacuum my car in that?
Clean house, dirty car, till spring arrives.
Our house is clean and our cars are never really, really filthy becuase DH is a bit obsessional. He has been known to clean them in the rain, and as he has a rural commute, he has cleaned his in the dark (we do have outside lights). He does it for safety purposes becuase if the car is really filthy, you can't see as well because obviously the lights aren't shining as brightly through filth.
Although to be fair the outside of my car gets taken through the carwash more in winter because it saves it from being destroyed by all the salt on the road.
I am really houseproud cannot abide mess and clutter but think the rain will wash my car ! and only clean out the inside when I really have nothing else to do, really its not a priority unlike my house.

You know you can just wipe the lights clean?
No my house is spotless. My car is pretty dirty. I'm hardly ever in my car, we rarely use it so I see little point in keeping it as clean as our home which we're in all the time!
Ha! This is me. Filthy car inside and out. Embarrassing.
My excuse is that I have dogs that go in the boot everyday. They shake hair, mud, muck. Then after dog walk I get in with muddy wellies and coat.
But my house is immaculate.
My house is clean and tidy but my car is disgusting because I have two small dc and while the weather's horrid I can't have them outside with me while I clean it, I can't leave them indoors alone and it's dark by the time dh gets home so car stays dirty until the weather improves!
Both car and house are (mostly a tip). I subscribe to the theory that people with spotless houses must have a boring life!!
