I predict Oldham AFC will reap what it sows. I do wonder if the dearies have done a risk assessment? Will they have him chaperoned 24/7 cause I bet if he even looks at a woman through his employment in the wrong way they will be facing some interesting civil suits - at least they have that crappy law firm as as sponsors - perhaps they will give them a discount ?

BBC are reporting it's off now.

It is off, BBC report that one of the reasons is that Oldham staff and their families were being threatened.

I 100% don't think Evans should be allowed to play football again and I think Oldham made a very bad decision even cknsidering signing him. However, for staff and their families of OAFC to be threatened is just wrond, the people that did that need to take a long hard look at themselves

Thank goodness for that. What a shameful move on Oldham's part to even consider him.

You have to wonder if there were any threats as the. Police say they have had no reports - very wrong if there were. Very ironic that the chairman who was going to employ CE to stand by his pricipals now declines to employ him because of thtreats to his daughter or rape - the very thing CH has committed.

To 'the woman concerned'. Angry

Would you rather he named her?

He can't grow13th because she has had to change her name because he raped her and his supporters have driven her away.

'My victim' would have been preferable.

He can't do that whilst maintaining his innocent claim, Becky.

The complainant would work; the woman concerned is fine though.

Only three years late...

Oh good, an Oldham/Ched thread. I was wondering when one would finally appear.

Becky, he can't say 'my victim' because he is protesting his innocence. Tbh the very fact that he doesn't actually understand that what he did was rape chills me - how is he not a danger to society if he doesn't know what rape is?

Him protesting his innocence is my problem.

Completely agree Jessica. The fact he doesn't believe that he is a rapist is testament to how foul he is.

The vast majority of us are not knuckle scraping misogynists or rape apologists.

Mysognists always make a distinction between the good women they own and the women who can be thrown to the wolves and Cheds, for all they care. Women aren't really real people you see.

I am pissed off because they called it off because of threats to their people and sponsors pulling out.

Not because it WRONG to employ a convicted rapist in a high profile sport that is followed my millions of young men the world over. Oh no, its because they would lose money (threats my ARSE, I suspect those have been exaggerated to justify this).

I feel the same about Mike Tyson, he should not have been allowed to return to boxing, and as for his "acting" career, words fail me. It seems like if you are famous, rich or exceptionally talented, it doesnt matter what you do because the Boys Club will close ranks and let you carry on regardless.

Post above was in reply to this.
