Je Suis Charlie

Thumbwitch Wed 07-Jan-15 14:05:38

What is it for?

I fucking will.

Terrible, terrible shit going on in Paris.

#JeSuisCharlie if it's on Twitter.

VanitasVanitatum Wed 07-Jan-15 14:10:08

Why is OP BU? I'm guessing this is a supportive picture to show solidarity with the victims.

MrsTawdry Wed 07-Jan-15 14:11:11

What does Je Sui mean?

MrsTawdry Wed 07-Jan-15 14:11:23

MrsTawdry Wed 07-Jan-15 14:11:59

Oh I see. "I am".

TheNumberfaker Wed 07-Jan-15 14:12:59

Je suis is French for 'I am'.

Thumbwitch Wed 07-Jan-15 14:16:20

You should have posted that link in the OP then - can't expect everyone to know what it's about!

What an awful thing to happen - these terrorist killings are dreadful, so wrong. RIP all the people killed in this latest attack. sad

linalool Wed 07-Jan-15 14:24:42

yes OP should have said what it was about

ToyStory3 Wed 07-Jan-15 14:28:47

Maybe she assumed everyone was up to date with current affairs? Why didn't you ask what the photo was for if you didn't know?

FaFoutis Wed 07-Jan-15 14:31:19

magpieginglebells Wed 07-Jan-15 14:33:32

Why on earth would this be unreasonable?

Surely people are aware of the huge news story going on at the moment?

Thumbwitch Wed 07-Jan-15 14:34:09

I did.

Thumbwitch Wed 07-Jan-15 14:34:17

I did.

Thumbwitch Wed 07-Jan-15 14:36:27

That was to Toystory.

And no, magpie, sometimes these things don't permeate everyone's daily lives. I'm sure there was a mention of it on tonight's news, I doubt Australia would have ignored it completely especially given the café tragedy before Christmas, but I didn't see it.

ToyStory3 Wed 07-Jan-15 14:40:01

That part of my comment was to linalool

HearCerseiRoar Wed 07-Jan-15 14:48:22

YANBU. I am proud to stand with Charlie Hebdo, Paris, and all those who stand up for freedom. Je suis Charlie.

DreamingofSummer Wed 07-Jan-15 14:48:53

I assumed that everyone would be familiar with this major story and wish to express their horror and sympathy

Nomama Wed 07-Jan-15 14:54:42

I don't do Twitter, but have used the fb link from the sky link

fedupbutfine Wed 07-Jan-15 15:45:23

I assumed that everyone would be familiar with this major story and wish to express their horror and sympathy

at 2 in the afternoon when by far the majority of people are at work and don't have automatic access to the news? I've just seen it because I check the headlines at the end of my day but otherwise wouldn't have seen it till 10pm. I don't think that's unusual.

silveroldie2 Wed 07-Jan-15 15:47:12

Of course it's dreadful but I don't understand the relevance of the OP's photograph or what possible good it will do to pass it on. What does that achieve? Can anyone explain?
