To think "manhood" doesn't really need any one to stand up for it?

Read this article and can't believe that anyone is promoting such a pile of bollocks. This guy actually sued a sports centre because they had a "women's hour" at their gym and think feminism is to blame for all the evils of the world. He has now written a book about how mean the "shehadists" are to poor widdle him.

Ugh, what an utter cockwomble.

Isn't 'manhood' another word for penis (in bad 'romance' novels)?

He sounds like a bit of a twat, as do most people when they're promoting themselves, but he has a very valid point about his gym membership, and on that he is completely correct.

Does his manhood not stand up for itself then?

I do think he has a valid point about the gym and didmake suggestions

when the management casually announced I’d lose 440 hours each year for simply being a bloke (and a ‘beta male’ bloke at that), it didn’t tickle.

In fact, I was so unimpressed that I sued them for sex discrimination.

Sounds extreme, I know, but this drastic measure only came after they snubbed all of my other suggestions for compromise, including: 1) creating a men’s hour while retaining the existing price structure 2) Keeping women’s hour (and only women’s hour) but charging men less, or 3) scrapping single-gender sessions altogether. Simple – or so you’d like to think

Fnar!!

Sorry.

Well, I'm looking forward to reading it. I'd love to hear about how feminism is literally killing men off.

Women's hour though? Why? Confused

I see his point. The word "shehadist" is perhaps too far though.

He couldn't use the gym during the 8000 or so hours that were left?

I agree with his stance on the gym....doesn't mean he's not a twat tho.

Looking into it further, he does seem like he might be a twat. I agree with his points re. the gym, but not sure about him. I looked at the page selling his book with genuine interest but it's aimed at men only... so much so that I actually feel that by being female, I can't buy it. Hmm

He couldn't use the gym during the 8000 or so hours that were left?

Why should he pay the same amount for restricted hours?

I think on this one point he is right.

I, too, would like to see an end to women's sessions at gyms. The answer is for the minority if men who create a hostile atmosphere for women to stop.

Easier to blame women, if course.

What an utter twat. Really comes across as hating women, and justifying this by dredging up examples of female sexism. Also baffled by his view of feminism as being about women wanting to be on a pedestal.

I don't know about the gym thing. I don't go myself, but do know people who have been put off by sexual harassment in mixed sessions. I suppose it is fair for him to ask for a discount, but note that he did it on principle, rather than because he was being inconvenienced.

He makes me think of men who go "shows your tits", then "wouldn't fuck you anyway" when you fail to oblige.

I thought it was quite funny meself- and I have been known to wear Primarni to the gym.

I've betaed too much smut fanfiction, I automatically thought of an erect willy ><

Did he sue successfully or fail? What's wrong with Primark? Their joggers are really comfortable, don't tighten around the waist like others do.

I wouldn't pay for his book, I'd be interested to read though, it would be like reading 'she's just not that into you' again- lot's wtftfing, ranting at the book and DH/friends about it and laughing in incredulity perhaps?

He's on Twitter @handsomecopy and his feed seems to consist of ranting at celebs like Solange Knowles (Beyonce's sister), Hadley Freeman and Caitlin Moran to tell them how sexist they are. Not that they engage with him!

Is he the man threatening to kill the women who sign up to his website?

Report
jessym · 03/01/2015 20:15

If the leisure centre had introduced 'men's hour', from which women were excluded, and women members who had paid the same as the men were disadvantaged by this (however marginally) most of us would probably regard that as sex discrimination.

His basic point, therefore, is not U.

His language and method of arguing his case, however, isn't doing him any favours.

MsAnndrist · 03/01/2015 21:54

I think he first should've looked at the reason why there might've been a demand for a "women's hour" at the gym, namely sexual harassment and intimidation, and then perhaps targeted the behaviour of guys who are guilty of that. But it's much easier to blame the wimminz, right?

This quite an old story- this article from April 2013 sets out a few good arguments as to why he is wrong.

I'm with him on the lower subs for shorter hours but that's about all. Surprised the Mail hasn't picked it up.
