I posted on here last week on a really low point having suddenly lost my dad at the begining of december. I was in a horrible place having had the funeral the week before Christmas and not having a clue how to hold it all together for my ds5 and mums sake as it would just be us. I felt scared, lost and worried for myself and them.
Thank you to all the lovely people who sent hugs and good words of advice. You really did help me get through it. You helped me find the strength to put a smile on in front of my son. But also the reassurance to know it was ok to take 10 min out and have a cry.
Thank you all so much. I know sometimes Aibu gets a bad name. But i honestly know that you helped me through it.
You are all stars xx

I don't post much but had some great advice and support before my DM's funeral too.

Sorry to hear you lost your dad. It's horrendous. AIBU can be pretty awesome sometimes and I'm glad people came through for you.

So glad you got through it all MOM.

My father was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago & a lovely MNetter guided me through it all. Then a couple of years ago another MNetter posted that her Dad had the same cancer & I would like to think I helped her, we are still in contact.

I bloody love MN sometimes, & I hate the way it is portrayed in the press. I'm sure there are loads of stories just like mine out there. Surely the whole point of it is women supporting each other when they need it.
