Well done, Salmotrutta Same here and now some have headed off for an early night and others are watching a film. First Christmas for a while with no bad feelings flying around. I think the Wine helped us all.

I got through the day.
I had a nice time.
My mum didn't annoy me as much as usual.
I loved my presents from DP because I picked them myself.

I can tick the survived box, but it's by the skin of our teeth and I'm pretty certain my mum isn't talking to me at the moment (bonus!)

We survived not sure my mum will do so for much longer but glad she did today. We couldn't even build memories (of the right kind, anyway) as she was poorly. The kids were a bit bored of creeping around nanny :(

We had a nice day. No bickering or winding up of DH by his sister as the 4 of us stayed home. DC had a great time, didn't get overtired or badly behaved as a result if all the excitement. Result.

Thank you. It's hard. She's old, sick & I think she may have had enough. We're not even that close but she's still my mum and it's hard to see her suffer and I can't imagine her not being there.

We had a lovely day but we lost our old dog a couple of weeks ago which played on my and dh's minds a bit.

So sorry poisoned

Our day was lovely but also impacted a little by an elderly and unwell relative. Poor mum cooked a mini feast for my granny who lives some way away but who has been essentially cut off by her other children. Mum had to do this and deliver it then come back to start her own day all while just really wanting to relax and maybe play with my 2yo dd.

After all that was done we have had a peaceful day.

Best wishes to all

I'm with you Salmotrutta , but I wish I did like Christmas , its very hard to hide . Also people think you must be a bit weird if you don't enjoy it. All that extra work , and then someone calls you , come and sit down , xxxxx, you can't cos you need to microwave your meal cos its gone cold whilst you saw to their meals , sos and so's !!!

Was just about to start a "Thank Fuck That's Over" thread when I spotted this one.
FIL has been a PILA all day, bickering with SIL over dinner and being an entitled brat later on. I had to go and sit in the conservatory for an hour because I didn't trust myself not to bite, DH with me the same.
But, he's gone home now and SIL has gone to bed and it's just me and DH.
And relax.

Well done troops, we made it.
Xmas Grin
