Ok so DH finally caved in after 7 years and bought me my dream Christmas present, a kitten. He's delightful and I love him. This means that I won't have anything at all to open on Christmas morning as the present from the DC and any others from relatives will be Boxing Day. This makes me feel a bit sad and grumpy. WIBU to expect a tiny pressie on the day? Just a mug or a £5 sweet bracelet or similar.

YABU - kittens are the greatest gift of all and trump everything else :D

A sweet bracelet?
You're what, 5? Grin

FWIW, if I gave a present early I would also give a wrapped present on the day. So YANBU!
However, I would find it acceptable to wrap up flea powder. Be careful what you wish for! Grin

I dunno. Get him to wrap you up a carrot or something Confused

You're lucky. I get utter shite on Christmas Day. I don't usually even bother opening the few that I do receive. I'd love a kitten as a present Sad

YANBU. DP and I went on holiday instead of doing presents last year and we didn't see family until the 27th so I had nothing at all to open on Christmas Day and it was SHIT.

We've all made sure to exchange gifts before the day this year so I won't have a face like a smacked arse again Grin

You never know what he might have planned, so don't count him out yet. I will admit I am Envy of your kitten though. I might feel better if I saw a picture though

Dh once got me a Hello Kitty colouring and sticker book for Christmas. I can't describe how offended I was.

They ended up in the bin Confused

hmmm, have you any idea of the chaos that will ensue if you open presents with a kitten in the house? You will still be finding bits of shredded wrapping paper in unexpected places for years afterwards.

Be thankful for the peace and quiet and that you will not be facing a huge repair bill for your vacuum cleaner..... Grin

DH and DS will both have presents to open so we won't be depriving him of the joy of wrapping paper destruction Smile

DH and DS can play with DS's scalextrix and I will cook lunch whilst quietly sulking in the kitchen and downing a bottle of prose co

I know, but you have a kitten. Surely that's better than a boring dressing gown or whatever. Your kitten will snuggle around your neck and you will feel happy Smile
