And take his military wives with him.

Well unless they have all marched into your living room, you could always just turn the TV off...

Cantbelievethisishappening Mon 22-Dec-14 16:56:44

Perhaps look beyond the choir at the often very difficult lives the military wives lead. Alternatively, don't watch them. hmm

QueenofLouisiana Mon 22-Dec-14 16:58:30

I like watching the military wives.

IRL though I found him to be a pretentious twat though. He can piss off.

ExitPursuedByABear Mon 22-Dec-14 16:59:30

Bit harsh.

StillStayingClassySanDiego Mon 22-Dec-14 17:02:20

Agree with those who suggest you don't watch or read anything with them in it/ on telly.

PureMorning Mon 22-Dec-14 17:26:25

Dp has a proper man crush on Gareth Malone

RoastingYourChestnutsHurtsAlot Mon 22-Dec-14 17:26:48

I like him and I know many many others do too so YABVVVVU to me

He's just very typical of music students and music graduates (based on my experience)

Sparklingbrook Mon 22-Dec-14 17:32:13

So that's all sorted then. On majority think he is fine. Good.

RedTinsel Mon 22-Dec-14 17:34:07

But he's so sweet and lovely. Unfailingly enthusiastic.
How can anyone not like him?

amicissimma Mon 22-Dec-14 17:52:59

Rinse your mouth out with soap and water, OP. Or whatever the keyboard equivalent is.

MardyBra Mon 22-Dec-14 17:58:01

I knew I'd find sparkling on here defending him.

DurhamDurham Mon 22-Dec-14 18:01:32

At first my feelings towards him were maternal......these days it's more of a murderous feeling. He is a tad irritating and smug.

No offence to Military Wives, I think they are great.

PortofinoVino Mon 22-Dec-14 18:03:53

Put batteries in your you can switch it off. And maybe turn that frown upside down at the same time?

Sparklingbrook Mon 22-Dec-14 18:04:59

Too right Mardy. i hope it isn't a trap. shock

CatIshoo Mon 22-Dec-14 18:06:47

I do blame him for the explosion of military choirs everywhere and the expectation that I should join one or have done.

Never ever ever am I doing that, the thought makes me cringe.

divingoffthebalcony Mon 22-Dec-14 18:07:13

Oh, you're putting ANOTHER choir together Gareth? Bore off.

Although it's more the BBC's fault for endlessly remaking the same programme.

Sparklingbrook Mon 22-Dec-14 18:09:01

Choirmasters do tend to put choirs together. grin

MardyBra Mon 22-Dec-14 18:10:56

You could say that about anything really diving. Oh look, Clarkson's driving another car, ok look Cowell's auditioning another singer. Just turn it off if you're not interested.

I sing in a choir and I'm interested in how puts the groups together, the personalities involved, the music he selects, how he coaches them and what sound they manage to produce together after that process. And I also fancy him in a slightly creepy maternal way.

MardyBra Mon 22-Dec-14 18:11:54

sparkling said it much more succinctly than me.

RoastingYourChestnutsHurtsAlot Mon 22-Dec-14 18:13:02

Just because choirs aren't your thing doesn't mean others don't find them fun and a good social event

I think the naysayers are the ones who frankly need to bore off

londonrach Mon 22-Dec-14 18:13:30

I think hes cute and done alot for alot of different people, including the military wives. He gave them a voice and as a result confidence in our amazing these strong ladies are. If you dont like him op turn the tv off. What you done for other people op? fgrin
