AIBU?

to be annoyed how this Xmas card is addressed?

On the envelope it just had DH's name, and in the card it says to MrHawk1ns, MrsHawk1ns and kids. we only have 2 children, not 10! Would it have been so difficult to have written their names too? They're short names not long names if that makes any difference.

Sorry but I think you are BU. It is nice that someone thought of you all and sent a card. It shouldn't matter that they did not name each child in the card.

Oh who gives a shit. A whole thread about how a Xmas card has been written. Most people wouldn't even have noticed

In one hand I have a bottle of laxatives.

In the other hand I have a can of polish

Yet I still can't give a shiny shit about this sort of thing.

They sent you a card, it was a nice thought, they probably have many cards to write, so why the annoyance?

Chill out and Merry Christmas Xmas Grin

They've probably forgotten their names. We lost our address book over a year ago and for some people I can't remember the order their children go in or whether it's Isobel or Isabella etc, so I would write and family, or and girls etc, for those few families.

Maybe they only know the name or spelling of one kid? Just enjoy the Christmas cheer!

How often do you see the sender , do they know them personally by name ? I sometimes find it hard to recall friends' dc names. Better that than get them wrong or misspelt.

I am so sorry that they couldn't be bothered to write Jack and Olivia on you card, and you would be completely reasonable to never talk or contact them again, they don't need another loon in their life.

We've had cards, from close relatives, with no names at all inside. But then we've not even sent cards this year! I'm not sure which is worseSmile

Fair enough I'm definitely being unreasonable then. Not sure why I felt bothered by it it just seemed a bit impolite but I've been put in my place, it's very "first world problem" so nothing to see here as you were I'll quietly slap myself and have a Biscuit !

Maybe they can't remember your DCs names?

We had one card last year where the sender's wrote DCs names in. Which would have been nice, except they'd got DS2's name completely wrong. They didn't even manage to pick a boy's name for him.

This year, this couple have written their card to Mr and Mrs Kat and family. It's a vast improvement on last year's attempt IMO.

OP they probably had lots of cards to write. One the inside I sometimes put Jayne & family.

It may come as a shock to you but the names of other people's children are easily forgotten. "And family" is far better than name picked at random.

Oh joy... another Christmas card thread.

Seriously don't get all the angst about how cards are addressed. MN is so weird about it?

I get cards addressed to Jodie&Co, Jodie and kiddies, Jodie and Family and it doesn't bother me at all, at least we were all thought of. I've not sent out any cards this yr, and haven't received any. It's a card.
