To ask how much weight you usually put on over Christmas?

Eurgh I've gained 5lbs.

I have three more eating out meals before Christmas day and our boxing day is like a second Christmas (two families)

I'm so going to gain at least half a stone aren't I? Time to bring out the elasticated jeans Wink

Please tell me I'm not the only one?

Erm none. I just eat the same amount, just different type

It doesn't really change to be honest

If anything I probably eat a bit less over the Christmas period because I tend to pick at things, rather than eating proper meals.

Well apart from Christmas dinner obviously.

I don't really eat much more at Christmas than at any other time of the year. I might eat a bigger meal for Christmas dinner, but then I won't eat in the evening because I will still feel full.

We tend not to go mad with the sweets and cakes either.

Not what you wanted to hear was it Grin

Hoping to gain a maximum of 3lbs.
Lost 9lbs over the last 6 weeks doing slimming world, despite lots of socialising. (I had 4 stone to lose when I started).

None usually. Just different eating, not necessarily more. I don't really drink either (alcohol), so don't add weight that way.

Well done blinking

I'm usually good for most of the year and weigh around 8stone.

I do overindulge at Christmas. Maybe when I'm out at dinner tomorrow I'll give the pudding a miss Grin

My post came across as a tad sanctimonious, but it wasn't meant to. I find that these days if I overindulge I get really bad indigestion and IBS.

Hoping to shift a few stone in January (I'm cheating though as my baby is due Grin) but normally I'd gain a few pounds - more down to the Baileys and wine than what I eat though.

None for xmas specifically, but i allow myself about 6lbs over the winter. Just because i eat stodgier food (mash, casseroles, etc) compared to the lighter summer dinners. I don't eat any more at xmas tho and even often lose weight a bit.

None. Why do you expect to put on weight? One day should not make a difference.

none

Sorry. Posted too soon! Just treat the other meals out like any normal meal out, that is with moderation, and you should be fine.

I usually try and drop a couple of llbs beforehand so it doesn't matter what I eat. I know I'll put a bit on but it soon drops off in January when I stop eating out and drinking lager

Loads... I go into horrible self-destructive overload at Christmas, particularly as we always ahve to host for family, so fridge is always full. I normally keep things on an even keel, bit I will stuff myself full of nuts, pate, cheeses, though I can resist sweet things as I don't have a sweet tooth. Assume you wiil put on a stone anything else will be a bonus.
Good luck, I'll certainly need it....oh and remember the wine! oops!

None. Don't really eat any more than on a normal day. We also tend to go for longer walks than normal and because I have a week off I intend to spend some of that gardening.

I do get given lots of chocolate etc as part of my job but hungry teenage DC and the foodbank benefit from them. I'm very grateful but simply can't eat my way through several boxes of chocolates.

At least 3lbs, but I've started late this year so maybe less....

Dunno, I have never done a before and after weigh in. Actually I don't think I have been weighed since having the dts 4 years ago.
I probably do put on a bit, just because I am likely to eat more cake and chocolate and I drink a lot more wine.
My clothes still fit though so it's not something I give much thought.

Nothing. High metabolism. However I wouldn't eat necessarily more around this period than usual.

None. I don't buy any of the 'Christmas' foods and don't overindulge when at parents for Christmas Day / Boxing Day. Not got a sweet tooth don't really eat chocolate or cake. And I just see cheese as 'fat' which makes it easy to resist.

RabbitOfNegativeEuphoria · 19/12/2014 17:14

None. And Xmas hasn't actually happened yet...

Report
Sallystyle · 19/12/2014 17:14

A pound or two usually but that is just water weight that goes after a day or two..

Actual fat? I don't think I do. I eat more Xmas eve, day and boxing day then go back to normal.
