AIBU - DS made me cry

DS has just presented his baby sister with a handmade Christmas card.

He made it at school so it's a little crumpled. He has drawn a Christmas scene on the front and obviously spent a lot of time on it.

I then read out the words inside, in his bestest writing it says "Dear A, Merry Christmas and I will love you much more than anything. From your big bro Xxx"

I held it together til he went to bed and now I'm sitting here crying "happy tears" and snuffling like an idiot. Tell me to pull myself together!

Definitely not unreasonable, had a little sniffle myself! How sweet!

That's so lovely flowers

My big bro is my hero. He's completely mad fgrin He has Aspergers and is VERY quirky! But he's brilliant as he is. I wouldn't change him at all, ever.

Weeping, weeping, weeping, how old is he?

Pancakeflipper Thu 18-Dec-14 19:52:52

That is super cute!

Starlightbright1 Thu 18-Dec-14 19:53:47

awwww

AlwaysDancing1234 Thu 18-Dec-14 19:54:48

I definitely have something in my eye, as does DH who's just seen the card!
DS is 7, he waited a long time to be a big brother and his (and our) wish came true this year smile

mumof6needssanity Thu 18-Dec-14 19:56:06

Aawww that adorable.

What a great big bro

MagpieCursedTea Thu 18-Dec-14 19:57:23

Oh that's just so cute, exactly what Christmas is about smile

dietcokeandwine Thu 18-Dec-14 19:57:26

Oh that's gorgeous OP. You have to keep that forever and ever and ever.

I would be sniffling too.

AlwaysDancing1234 Thu 18-Dec-14 19:57:51

Tartanscarf that's lovely, I hope our DD feels like that about her big bro in years to come

Fluffyears Thu 18-Dec-14 19:58:38

Aw how amazing x

Andrewofgg Thu 18-Dec-14 19:59:20

Seven years is a good gap; my DSis is seven years older than I am. We squabbled a bit (so will yours, OP, a bit later!) but we have got closer as we get older and the age-difference dwindles.

mytartanscarf Thu 18-Dec-14 19:59:27

He sounds as awesome as my brother so I am sure she will smile

Finola1step Thu 18-Dec-14 20:00:23

Aww. That needs to go in the special box (or wherever you keep the most treasured bits and pieces). What a lovely boy.

AlwaysDancing1234 Thu 18-Dec-14 20:06:43

It's definitely one for the keepsakes box. fsmile

emotionsecho Thu 18-Dec-14 20:08:57

Dear me I seem to have something in my eye, what a lovely little boy you have OP.

My screen seems to have developed a fault, it's gone all wobbly hmmblush

What a lovely boy you have!

AlexD72 Thu 18-Dec-14 20:49:16

That is really wonderful. Can I suggest you keep that card in a very safe place as I'm sure it will come in handy on very special days when they are older! Like a wedding day! Printed on a canvas as a present. I'm getting soppy in my old age
