For rice or pasta

EVER

Why is this?

TheBiscuitStrikesBack Sat 13-Dec-14 19:00:19

Yes! I agree, no idea why though?! Very annoying.

RoundRobinSparkles Sat 13-Dec-14 19:01:29

They prefer to use every fecking pan in the bloody cupboard. And make a mess.

I don't know why this is. One of life's mysteries, I guess!

NoelleHawthorne Sat 13-Dec-14 19:02:11

Its not liek there is a tax on them..

FreudiansSlipper Sat 13-Dec-14 19:02:54

I am sure if you point it out to them they will

BoneyBackJefferson Sat 13-Dec-14 19:05:13

All men?

raltheraffe Sat 13-Dec-14 19:05:42

DH uses a massive OTT pan, the total opposite!

madsadbad Sat 13-Dec-14 19:08:04

I must be then man in my house, no problems with the size used but I use every pot/saucepan/ any thing else when cooking.
Husband is a one pot guy, sometimes a frying pan.
No issues with him cooking pasta or rice, actually x 2 BIL's regularly cook at mine and don't make a crazy mess or struggle to know what size equipment to use.

tassisssss Sat 13-Dec-14 19:10:00

Exactly the same here!

LeopardInABobbleHat Sat 13-Dec-14 19:11:18

A bit of a generalisation here.

HappyAgainOneDay Sat 13-Dec-14 19:21:02

My dear late H cooked well, used few pans and always cleared up after himself. I loved whatever he cooked.

FreudiansSlipper Sat 13-Dec-14 19:21:23

why are you talking about your partners as if they are young children hmm

HappyAgainOneDay Sat 13-Dec-14 19:21:29

And him.

FoulsomeAndMaggotwise Sat 13-Dec-14 19:21:49

My DH is the rice king. It's me who uses the wrong pan.

NorbertDentressangle Sat 13-Dec-14 19:21:56

Nope YABVU, well, where my DP is concerned anyway as he uses huge pans. The bigger the better as far as he's concerned.

CatsClaus Sat 13-Dec-14 19:23:09

oh and the other side of the coin....dh will often use a GIANT pan for peas for two people. grin

Roussette Sat 13-Dec-14 19:25:00

GIANT pan DH here! 2 boiled eggs in the biggest pan we've got! Why??!

LeopardInABobbleHat Sat 13-Dec-14 19:26:13

Peas need room to bobble about, Cats. They lose flavour if they are cramped.

TiggyD Sat 13-Dec-14 20:15:57

WHY DO ALL WOMEN, ABSOLUTELY EVERY SINGLE FUCKING ONE OF THEM INSIST ON USING SAUCEPANS THE SIZE OF BATHS TO COOK THEIR RICE IN!

Don't they care that they're using more energy to heat it?! Don't they care about the boyzone layer? Women are all panda murdering planet destroyers! The lovely county of Royal Berkshire what I do live in will soon be a desert thanks to those bumpy chested rice drowners! Can you imagine a world without Maidenhead?!?!?!

For god's sake use smaller pans women!

Hatespiders Sat 13-Dec-14 20:20:51

My dh uses the biggest pan he can find for all his cooking. And he clears up beautifully afterwards. But we have a rice-boiler machine so it's very easy to do rice.
I think he feels tiny pans are cissy! Anyway, where he comes from they use massive great cauldrons over charcoal fires, so that's where he gets his preference for gynormous cooking pots.

YonicSleighdriver Sat 13-Dec-14 20:25:58

fgrin Tiggy.

OP, YABU of course for such a gender based generalisation wine

nauticant Sat 13-Dec-14 20:29:28

This made me laugh. Especially since LeopardInABobbleHat clearly has bobble on the brain.

nauticant Sat 13-Dec-14 20:30:21

Don't they care about the boyzone layer? also deserves an honourable mention.
