AIBU?

To string DH up by his balls...

Just been up into attic today to get tree and decorations down for the dc to decorate. Tree is there but no decorations.

They were in a box clearly labelled Christmas decorations... gone! There is another box with a "for the tip" label which I asked DH to take when he went.

It's looking like he taken the wrong box to the tip and he's on a works do tonight so can't ask him, well I can but I am fuming and would probably spoil his night. The dc are upset, I'm trying to make light of it but I am seething.

I know we can buy more, but there were lots of ones that the dc have made over the years and some which my mum gave me before she died.

I am really bloody angry and feel like ringing him to get himself home and find them... I won't!

Coat the testacles in gold and use them to decorate the tree? Pity he has only two, but it's a start. Perfectly reasonable, I think. A well balanced and fair response! Grin

I would scream at him tomorrow morning when he is hangover just to make a really good point about reading labels. Grin

Had this thread already but this time the boxes are labelled and you are slightly less screechy.

One January dh left the decs box next to ds's cot for the night rather than in the cupboard behind the cot. Small boy got hold of Angela, the treetop fairy from my childhood my mum bestowed on me for my tree. And he ripped her limb from limb. I cried. But glad he didn't hang himself on the tinsel.

I would be furious. Can he read? I would give all his books etc to charity, as he has obviously only been pretending all this time that he can. He'll have to pay for all new decorations, and do a lot of arse kissing to make this up.

You can all Deja-vu till the cows come home... it's still not me.

It doesn't make me feel any better that some other poor sod has a dickhead DH who can't read either.

Maybe your DH didn't like the decorations? Accidentally on purpose took away the wrong box. I am not excusing him, mind

Could it be he didn't take any box to the tip and the Christmas box is somewhere else?

3littlefrogs · 12/12/2014 21:48

These things do happen.
BIL took a box of antique books to the tip and left me the box of completely worthless tatty paperbacks.
DS took a box of tools to the tip and left me a box of junk.

Everything was clearly labelled, but some people can't be bothered to check. Sad

As I said on the other thread, I carefully bagged up a load of ski gear, put it in a safe place, then a few weeks later I gathered it up myself, drove it to the tip and threw it in a skip.

All has to be replaced for the next trip facepalm

I put a box of DC's toys in the garage loft, well I asked DH to years ago. Then I became a Child minder and thought it would be great to get those old toys back. They had gone. DH must have accidentally got rid during a spring clean. I was gutted as they were the favourite toys that held special memories and I wad keeping them for future grand kids.

Do people really imagine that people don't have similar problems to other people? This is a common problem in a way...my sister's DH did the same thing.

Report
CakeAndWineAreAFoodGroup · 13/12/2014 08:16

Why would you put a box of stuff for the tip back in the loft?

I don't drive but if I get anything ready for the tip it goes straight in the car ready for the tip. Not put it carefully back next to stuff I need to keep. Especially not if my oh were a habitual taker of treasured irreplaceable Christmas decs to the tip.

Hmm

What have you learned from this?

Report
littlemslazybones · 13/12/2014 08:25

To be fair, I bet this happens a lot. Junk and Christmas decs inhabit the same space in this house too. In fact, I thought this happened to is last year but thankfully I was wrong. I then promised myself I'd stop boxing all the Xmas stuff in Pampers boxes and find a proper place for them but no, I still shoved them all back into the same unlabelled nappy box.
