...what is the big deal about Benedict Cumberbatch ? I genuinely don't understand. He seems to be everywhere recently and his engagement garnered a lot of publicity, as well as envy.

Is he a particularly gifted actor ? I'm vaguely aware of some Sherlock Holmes connection. To be blunt he isn't exactly blessed with matinee idol looks.

Standing by for replies and venom Grin.

He was brilliant on Radio 4's Cabin Pressure.

He's brilliant. Years before Sherlock he played Stephen Hawkins in a TV Movie and was amazing.

He brilliant in Sherlock, Tinker Tailor, Soldier, Spy and The Hobbit.

I love him.

Talent is not all about looks you know.

I think he's talented, but I don't fancy him a jot. Not that I'm into chisel jawed hunks either...I'm moved by a good ugly man - but BC does nothing for me.

He doesn't do it for me, I think he looks a bit reptilian, but I'm sure his mother loves him.

It's not his looks that are so attractive, it's something about him and his personality. I've seen him being interviewed and he has a way about him, no idea what it is though Blush

Don't worry. You don't have to like/know the work of/admire/fancy every man.

He's an actor. A lot of people like him. Some fancy him. That's about it.

I can't say his name (or even hear it in my head) without singing it to the tune of Another One Bites The Dust.

Awkward.

I know nothing about him. He does come across as a proper gentleman though, that's quite appealing.

King I think we're all going to do that from now on. Damn. Grin

I used to think he was a good actor, but he's really not selling this engagement well. I mean, he's selling it, but I'm not buying it. Yeah, I think it's all for publicity.

And King, now I too will have to do that too. I shall think of it as 'Joffing'.
You're welcome.
