YANBU. At all.

Really?

Of course it's fine. Unless she has some SN or other issues you haven't told us about.

VivaLeBeaver Wed 10-Dec-14 15:27:56

Do it. At 11yo my dd was left all day in school holidays when I was at work.

PurpleSwift Wed 10-Dec-14 15:28:36

That's absolutely fine - not sure why you'd even have to ask

NorwaySpruce Wed 10-Dec-14 15:28:42

11 years and 9 months ? fgrin

Yes, she'll be fine I'd have thought, unless she has form for acting up.

My ten year old would be fine with that.

A lot of secondary school kids are left at home alone until their parents get home from work. Unless she can be silly I don't know why you'd question it?

I used to babysit my younger brother and sister at that age quite regularly so I wouldn't have thought leaving her alone for a little while would be an issue? blush or maybe it is? I'd say it's fine though!

youareallbonkers Wed 10-Dec-14 16:09:21

yes that's fine

WorraLiberty Wed 10-Dec-14 16:10:01

Goodness me, of course its fine.

Mehitabel6 Wed 10-Dec-14 16:15:16

As long as she is happy it is fine.

If she was well I would say no problem at all but the fact that she is chesty would worry me.

When my son was 10 I was leaving him home for 15 mins whilst I did the school run,(he had a cold and a cough) as I was about to leave he came down struggling to breathe and had to be rushed to hospital.

Because of that I am less likely to leave them now if they are sick - and 2 hours is quite a while. Is there not a neighbour who could stick their head in to have a quick check on her while you are out?

nokidshere Wed 10-Dec-14 16:26:57

Sorry missed the bit about her not knowing the neighbours...

I don't see a problem - go
