Because that's what I did Hmm

He was weeing shielded by his own van, hidden from sight of the road. But not from my front door sadly.

I realise that he must have been caught short with few options, but a few more feet down the road would have given him bushes to spare his blushes.

And WHY THE CHUFF did I feel the need to splutter 'oh I'm so sorry, excuse me, I'll go back in...there.... sorry Blush '

Confused

Haha! You should send that into the #britishproblems thread on Buzzfeed.

It's probably a British thing - like the way we apologise if someone bumps into us. Plus, probably, being unprepared.

I had a similar issue the other day when I came back fairly late and drove into the driveway between our house and the neighbours only to find that my headlights were tastefully illuminating a man peeing against the side of the house. I didn't immediately catch on, and I thought for a minute about getting out and shouting at him, but ultimately decided I couldn't be bothered. I did keep the headlights trained on him, though, on the basis that it would do no harm for his embarrassment to continue.

The cheek of him Ici!

Fancy apologising though, oh I'm so sorry did I interrupt you using the outside of my house as a toilet, I do apologise! Hmm

Poor bloke did look mortified though when I eventually dragged my eyes to his face he must have thought I had marched out to confront him.
I hadn't, I'd seen the van and thought he was my carpet measurer.

Thank god he wasn't the carpet measurer.

Reminds me of the time we walked passed a chap having a wee by a huge boulder halfway down a mountain in the Dolomites.
He apologised and my husband said 'it's quite alright, you carry on'.
We were the only Brits on that mountain and we bonded over an Al fresco wee!

I had a go at someone doing this in an alley near my home ("this isn't a toilet") but felt awful when he turned round as he was very elderly and was obviously mortified (and really really had to go). Most guys have no excuse though - just wait to you find a ruddy toilet like we do!

SirNoel I'm sure there's a medal that is awarded for such very British politeness in the face of a stranger's penis.

You'll be in the Queen's New Year's Honours List, mark my words.

This happened to a friend of mine,

she went up to him and said: "Are you aware how totally inappropriate that is?

It could have been a CHILD finding you here with your willy out!"

Then she stomped off

That was the right response I think.... Grin

A woman I used to work with happened upon a man curling one out near the office steps one day. His response was "sorry love, couldn't wait"!!

I have walked past a couple of men (separately) weeing outside our block of flats. I challenged both of them and said 'this is private property, you can't do that here' in my most Hyacinth Bucket snotty voice. One ignored me, one apologised but said he was about to 'piss himself'. Lovely Hmm

I like your friend's response Chandon

How come it's only men, I think women have more decency Grin. Considering the queue for bar/nightclub toilets for women as as long as the Great Wall of China, it's always the men peeing out in the streets. It's these Mumsnetters teaching their toilet training boys to wee anywhere they want.

I've found the line 'if that's all I had I wouldn't be getting it out in public' effective for both public pissers and flashers.Smile

Aeroflot - not all women have more decency. DF is a taxi driver and last week a woman made him stop the car before she wet his seats and she just went at side of main road beside flats and her friend then decided she might as well too! Poor DF was Shock

Well, I'm caught short sometimes occasionally and have wee-ed behind a car at the outside edge of a car park. I've also been in a wood behind a tree. I really feel for those who are taking water tablets and have no control over when they go. They have an urge that means then and there.

murphy Shock the only time I had an alfresco wee was when I was 14 and we were camping in Snowdonia with no toilet facilities.

Given the lack of public toilets and the refusal of many people (judging by what I read on here) to allow workmen/delivery drivers/sales people to use their toilets when they call, I'm sure this happens a lot. I'm sure most people would use a loo if one is available , but often they're not.

Well, at least he did not piss into the marble exterior of your local shopping center. Hmm

I think that the only reason women don't wee in the streets is because our anatomy makes it very difficult.

Report
Aeroflotgirl · 10/12/2014 16:29

I always let tradespeople use my loo, it's awful not being able to use one.

Just remembered the time my df & I had just left our local sainsburys & we were walking to his car (range rover) to find a very drunk man relieving himself all over the back wheel arch!!! Shock
I know his car was a bit muddy(he's a farmer) but surely the car wash would have done a better job!Hmm

I would tell him to put it away, dirty git, there are public toilets in most supermarkets, no need to wee outside.
