...that I actually stay bloody logged in...for at least 24hours and not have to sodding keep logging back in?!?

Not just MN. Many other sites offer this facility, but it all seems a bit hit and miss as to whether it does what it says on the tin.

So AIBU to expect to stay logged in when I've elected to do so?

*title should read "logged IN

It's probably your browser settings. What are you using?

Smidge001 Wed 10-Dec-14 11:07:56

I agree! Drives me insane. Only get it for mumsnet myself, on the ipad. It's fine on the iPhone, but on the iPad it won't stay logged in at all. Bloody annoying. <rant over>

I'm on Safari on either iPhone or iPad. But I get to stay on other sites once I've ticked the box.

Any advice re settings welcome though smile

*on SOME other sites. As I mentioned, hit and miss

I stay logged in, unless I clear my data and cookies. After that I have to log in again on all sites.

HappenstanceMarmite Wed 10-Dec-14 11:47:02

Yes that is how I expect it to work Duchess. I haven't done that for a long time so don't know why in being logged out sad

hiddenhome Wed 10-Dec-14 12:58:49

I keep getting logged out on my iPhone.

ScrambledeggLDCcakeBOAK Wed 10-Dec-14 15:26:41

Well I have just logged in again! to say I agree.

It so bloody annoying grrr!

Only on mumsnet on iPad

Me too, also facebook won't stay logged in. This has all happened since I did an apple download on my iPad.

Go into Safari in Settings and make sure you have not blocked cookies.

(MNHQ told me what to do a while ago.fgrin )

Do you have your security settings under internet options set so that you delete cookies and temp files if you close down?
I do, and get logged out of eerything everytime I shut down.

NoLongerJustAShopGirl Wed 10-Dec-14 15:50:22

If you use different devices then it will log you out on "the other" one..

plecofjustice Wed 10-Dec-14 16:18:52

It's a cookie. If you've set your device to remove cookies on close (usually under your privacy settings) your login will not persist.

HappenstanceMarmite Wed 10-Dec-14 16:35:44

Thanks everyone.

No I have not set to delete history etc. my cookies are set to keep on all sites I visit. Facebook and Ebay (as an example) stay logged in, it's just MN...plus the odd other site that I don't use on a regular basis.
