To wonder how many coats duchess of Cambridge has?

Just that really, every outfit has a whole different coat. I'm in clothes awe, mainly because I couldn't afford a maternity coat and instead sewed extra buttons onto my old one.

I wonder what her luggage allowance is.

I think that when you are the future Queen of England you would have a lot of coats. I don't begrudge her.

This winter I have six on the go and a couple of mac's. Mine are M&S and charity shop Phase Eight/Hobbs

I love all her coats - so Jackie Kennedy. Nice to see Kate showing off her legs too; love her higher hemlines Envy

I think she always looks fantastic. I love her coats and all her outfits!

I think she always looks classy, elegant and stylish without being ott. I expect she gets clothes free, as the moment she wears something it sells out. Shops must be queueing up to give her their latest lines in dresses and coats!

She has had a few coats adjusted so they fit in pregnancy. I also think that they are more on show in this part of the year than whatever she wears underneath. She may well have one plain dress under and a handful of coats.

She can have as many as she choses to have.

She has 3 coats the same as mine (I had them 1st) very very annoying! She dresses far beyond her years in my view. I would imagine that all her clothes need adjusting as most of the brands she wears (or used to wear as she has got a lot more expensive recently) dont go smaller than a size 8.

I saw the pics of her and Wills meeting JayZ and Beyonce.

Beyonce was just in a T shirt. Kate was in a coat. Someone must have been cold/hot, surely.

I have no life.

I don't know how many coats she has, but one thing you can be sure of is that we paid for all of them! Three cheers for Her Royal Highness... Hip Hip!

I think she looks better in jeans and t-shirts to be honest

One for every day of the year I'd imagine. Designers must be falling over themselves to give her one of their designs.

Did you know that a basketball player actually touched her when they were at the game? Well I can assure you I nearly vomited.

I doubt she does pay for them. Everything she wears sells out. If I wanted to sell my clothing I'd be paying her to bloody wear them if I could.

This is, technically, a business trip. Are there really people who think it would be a good idea for her to have gone to the USA, especially New York, in second-hand/cheap outfits? She'd have been made a laughing stock world-wide.

I think we can learn from this. If your work is outside, in winter, wear the same dress every day under a different coat... and if you have that many coats I suppose they don't all have to be terribly durable??

minipie · 09/12/2014 19:58

I doubt she buys/owns them all. I expect the clothes companies send them to her to wear for free as they know they'll get lots of publicity from it. I think this is often the case with slebs. Another example of how the rich can save money and get richer simply by being rich (or in this case famous).

I don't envy her coat particularly but I do wonder how she can fit into things like that (it's not a maternity coat) at 5 months pregnant with her second... I'm a couple of weeks more pregnant than her and I am zeppelin like.

She's also an ambassador for British brands and designers. I really like her understated style. I don't think she dresses too old for her years - she's got to be careful not to wear anything trashy/revealing.

The pink coat is by Mulberry and has already sold out.

Clearly not enough coats.
Hence she had to wear her jazzy pink one to to the Ground Zero memorial.

Clothes for the royal family are paid for by themselves not out of money from the taxpayer, so it would be from their personal accounts - his money from his Mother's estate, his salary or any trust fund set up by her parents - they're independently wealthy. They're not allowed to accept freebies apparently so I would bet they're not allowed to accept a loan either.
