to wake my neighbours up at 6.30 as they parked blocking my drive

I don't actually need my drive now, but I'm pretty annoyed and will be leaving soon but want to make sure they are not blocking it when I'm back this afternoon.

I know its silly but it bugs the hell out of me that they often park over it

Gosh not sure I can actually do it, I've written a note to say I need my drive later and their car is blocking it.

How rude! I would be tempted to "NEED" to go out at 6.30 just to get them up to move their car to really drive(pardon the pun) the message home to them.

I'd have woken them even just to take the car round to the paper-shop bought a paper and then come home to read it with a cup of tea before I started my day.

Not unreasonable and a lesson to them not to block your drive. They are being rude but having done it before without consequence they probably think you don't mind, if they think if you at all

They haven't blocked my car in, its parked on the road. My drive is no narrow its a right pain to get it on the driveway but I do ocassionly when I buy heavy stuff or have people staying.

I just hate that they park over ocasionly it by a few ft meaning I couldn't park on it if I wanted to.

Mine do this too OP.

My drive is a pain as you have to stop in the street, get out, open up both gates then drive the car in, squeeze past a holly bush to go and shut the gates again...... But we live opposite a pub so chances are if im out late there will be no where to park when i get back so will have to use the drive.

Next door neighbours still park across it and its got worse now there 2 eldest both have their own cars, the roads even busier. I still go and ask them to move though hoping the penny will drop.... It still hasnt.

If you mean wake them up because they've parked across your empty drive then yes YWBU.

You can drive your car when you need it. I'd put a note through their door asking them to move their car by X o'clock, when you intend to use it next. If they're still blocking your drive when you need it later today then that is the time to get shirty.

If you hardly ever use your drive and parking spaces are tight, your neighbours presumably think 'we'll park here as there's nowhere else and marryj will ask us if she reds to access her drive.

Seriously a quick note through the door or knock when you actually do need to access your drive is all it will take.

Do you have the right to ask others to move from rhe public highway outside your home BTW? General question, not a dig as I don't actually know.

Honestly - it's not worth the row or the effort. You can get your car out and go about your business. Speak to them later and say 'I'd like you not to park across my drive from now on'

If that doesn't work then get arsey but there's no need to look for a fight where there's no immediate need.

Have they blocked you in or not?
If not, don't wake them up.
If they have made it impossible for you to get on your drive later then stick a note through their door before you go out asking them to move.
If it's not impossible but just tricky then suck it up and practice parking.

Parking spaces are not tight, my driveway is narrow.

Basically I don't ever want to come back and find them blocking my driveway so I can't get my car on it.

I will want to use it later to unload and want their car gone by then. If it isn't then its more hassel to park up, ask them to move theirs and then restart my car and reverse it on so I probably wouldn't bother.

If there is no car on your drive they can legally park across it

You can't take up a spot on the road when you have a perfectly usable drive and then whinge about it

You park on your drive, they park in the space you usually park in -problem solved!

I don't have a perfectly use able drive ffs as I've already said! its very narrow, have to get out and fold the wing mirrors in, open and push the gates right back and scrape along a bush.

They do have a perfectly good drive though.
