If you have one. Which I do. And not hammer very hard on the door with their hand? Just why? Confused

Oh and not call me 'mate' Angry

I am in such a bad mood today.

Because they have a very short time to deliver to stay within their etas . Hammering gets you to the door quicker Grin

But yes well annoying I agree.

I'm not sure it did really, it just made me jump. Grin

I don't even know what the parcel is. DH has been online again. Hmm I think it's something from a sports shop for the DSs.

He wasn't very reasonable to address you as 'mate', I agree with that.

The door thing wouldn't bother me unless I had a baby sleeping which I don't have anymore ,so it wouldn't matter.

It woke Sparkling Cat up Still. Sad She sleeps through the doorbell.

I suppose there are worse things he could have called me.

Just the other evening I had someone call at the door, trying to get me to sign up for cavity wall or loft insulation. He lost me at the point where he had rung the bell and I was just coming down the stairs to open the door whereupon he proceeded to hammer on the door, twice. FGS - give a person a chance to get to the bloody door. We already have both types of insulation and don't qualify for any of the grants that are available. I had the devil's job getting shot of him and he was asking me whether we rented and all sorts of other crap. I ended up saying, 'look, I'm not interested, thank you' as I shut the door in his face. Grrrrr.

If I was a delivery driver and I had to endure dozens of silly-tuned doorbells a day I would probably hammer on each door too Grin

Our bell hasn't worked for 7 years so we put a sign up saying please knock.

I could have probably replaced the battery in the time it took to write the sign! Wink

And yes, some drivers really do hammer but then most of the time I am upstairs in the back so they do need to get my attention. :)

It can make you jump if you're in the front room though.

Ours sits in his van and blasts the horn!

(We do live on a farm and can conceivably be in any one of the buildings when he turns up!)

At least he hammered on the door, my delivery yesterday was given to a neighbour and I was in all day, didn't hear anything. Useless.

My doorbell has never worked Sad

It's wired in and when the police came to get the previous tenant they tried to break down the front door but instead just knocked the door frame wonky (since been realigned) and it did something to the doorbell electrics Hmm

My one doorbell has a ringer box thing that you can clip to your belt. Confused So when I am in the east Wing I will still be able to hear it. Grin

The knocking I don't mind. It's the knocking again before giving you chance to answer the door which is bloody infuriating!

My doorbell works - no fucker ever uses it though...everyone bloody knocks. AND it lights up!

We have a glass panel in the top half of our door. They bang so hard they'll smash the glass one of these days. Our bell is in full view and lit up too.
And what's the problem with those silly devices you're supposed to sign on with a plastic stylus? You can't get a mark from them. And if you finally produce a tiny squiggle, they say "That'll do fine!"

I shouted at the delivery man who did this to me earlier in the week. To be fair I am sleep deprived due to a new born and can't rush to door due to stitches but I'm hopeful he won't do it again Grin
